  1. At first, it looks like my computer is at least acceptable for gaming, but that's not true, because if I don't play at the lowest resolutions, my mosue lags like hell. You could say that it's because I have a wireless mouse, but it's the mobile version of the new Logitech Darkfield ones, and I don't think any kind of receiver delay would increase or decrease with different resolutions. It's clear that I have to play CoD at 800x600 or 720x400 and it works fine, but I deal with slighter, yet constant mouse lag in Source games no matter how much I decrease the resolution, and if I don't play DoD:S at 1400x900 then I can't see anyone well enough for a headshot. This needs to be fixed if I'm not to get my ass handed to me in assaults or any clutch moments in my games. Got any ideas? So far I've ordered a cooler master notepal and I'm going to get a can-o-air (snowing right now), to take care of the overheating making it worse. I've also uninstalled my mouse drivers and got a new config that stops unnecessary things from taking up resources (1st MRB config), but it lowers lerp and increases update rate, so it was a good trade-off but not a solution to the resources being taken. I also noticed that taking a lot of my startup programs out helped, and I'm looking into turning off services. If the coolermaster doesn't fix it, should I go as far as looking for a not-norton antivirus? Maybe if my lag goes away I can do more than spam with the Garand or shoot stationary targets. If you see me playing and aren't on an MG, don't stop and aim, I'm a good shot, just dance around like you have to piss really bad and shoot. The faster you shoot, the more dynamic lights appear, and that's also a huge advantage.
  2. So it's working now, thanks Benson. I found it easier to get hits even on 100 lerp, not sure if that was just my imagination or not. There are dynamic lights now, making it run slower, but they're probably important, unless running below 60fps is bad, or is it 30fps?
  3. Mine only works entirely in LAN games.
  4. Link just opened this thread again.
  5. This config is very good. With the config in full effect my game has gone from running at 30-50 fps, to 55-145 fps. In a LAN game, it runs at 200 or more fps. The hit registry is a lot better, and on many maps, seeing the outskirts doesn't matter to me. I might change the no gibs rule, but I'm not bothered that texture becomes lower quality at a notable distance, because I'm not paying much attention to textures while I'm playing. But please help me here; I see most of the changes to the game (no gibs, no distant objects, and maybe other things I don't know about) don't take effect when playing on the 1st MRB pub. This has be running at 40-80 fps in the server, which can be annoying at times and mess up a shot when it gets below 60. I know that server communication takes up processing speed, but I have a feeling that the changes that didn't happen in the pub are the reason that I was still getting below 60 and taking dives at like 15. (Yeah, my computer is pretty weak, 1.83ghz Duo bogged down by Norton and Vista.)
  6. I started using lower lerp, really helps with hitboxes, but it caused really bad stuttering. Must be my damn PC, piece of shit. Well at least I know where most of the hitboxes are now.
  7. Good to know, thanks. I have to download netgraph now to better see.
