http://www.huffingtonpost.com/kashif-n-cha..._b_7702064.html "1,400 years ago, he prophesized that a time would come when nothing would remain of Islam but its name, nothing of the Quran but its word, and that many "Mosques would be splendidly furnished but destitute of guidance" (Mishkatul Masabih). In these latter days, the true spiritual essence of Islam would be lost, and religion, for the most part, would be reduced to a ritualistic compulsion. He foretold that the clergy would be corrupt and be a source of strife during these times. How true this is of the extremist clerics in parts of the Muslim world that abuse the pulpit to preach division and hate. He also went on to describe terrorist groups such as ISIS that would try to hijack the Islamic faith. At this time of dissension, he said there would appear "a group of young people who would be immature in thought and foolish." They would speak beautiful words but commit the most heinous of deeds. They would engage in so much prayer and fasting that the worship of the Muslims would appear insignificant in comparison. They would call people to the Quran but would have nothing to do with it in reality. The Quran would not go beyond their throats, meaning they wouldn't understand its essence at all, merely regurgitating it selectively. The Prophet then went on to describe these people as "the worst of the creation." As if this outline wasn't clear enough, another tradition in the book Kitaab Al Fitan reported by Caliph Ali, the fourth successor to Prophet Muhammad, describes these people as having long hair and bearing black flags. Their "hearts will be hard as iron," and they would be the companions of a State (Ashab ul Dawla). Interestingly, ISIS refers to itself as the Islamic State or Dawla. The tradition further mentions that they will break their covenants, not speak the truth and have names that mention their cities. The ISIS caliph, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, comes to mind. Prophet Muhammad furiously and painfully described these evildoers, and admonished Muslims to beware of their evil and fight it. "Whoever fights them is better to Allah than them," he proclaimed."

*Salute* (One mustn't forget either that there were almost simultaneous attacks (bearing in mind the timezone differences) in the Philippines, Wake, Guam, Malaya, Singapore and Hong Kong. It wasn't just about US carrier hunting, it was supposed to be an international decisive blow, ending the war before it started -an extremely close call, and we lost a lot of good men all over the pacific that day.)

This would all be a far more straightforward argument if the jobs were there. After WW2 both the US and UK were operating at near 100 percent employment. Employers actually had to compete to attract talent and keep people, offering them careers for life and a company that would look out for them. Now we're awash with cheap foreign labour, allow companies to shift production overseas, allow uncompetitive, totalitarian nations to compete with us under the banner of free trade... And the ones who win are the employers. I think there should be a sort of civilian force with a military styled organisation where you're guaranteed work whether it be building dams or digging up roads. Let that be the welfare system, guaranteed employment if you're willing.

Now is exactly the time to be worried and if possible do something. When the carrier's no longer a barge, and the soldiers are up to par, and the artificial island naval bases in the pacific are operational it may well be too late. :S China has functional anti-satellite missiles and is currently working on a hyper-sonic intercontinental drone aircraft designed to circumvent all current missile defence systems. Keep in mind that Chinese military espionage is more rampant than ever, it's an open secret and a losing battle to try and halt it. I just wish the overflights and US naval patrols near these 'islands' had happened two years ago. (For a start we've just lost Vietnam as an ally after having signed a military alliance agreement with them over Chinese territorial claims in their waters.) I'm glad they're happening though, the asian alliance of south east pacific nations can only happen with the US taking a leading role. -

It's a big sideshow that we kicked off with Iraq and then encouraging anti-Assad rebels while doing nothing to help them for years. Also pretty sure that Russian leaders are glad that Syria means we aren't talking about the annexation of a chunk of Ukraine anymore. The real threat is China, who is watching, waiting, seeing how much they can get away with while building up a first class military where budget cuts aren't an issue. Very soon they'll say jump and we'll ask what cliff off of. -

We didn't start world war III over a South Korean airliner carrying hundreds of people who were ordered shot down in cold blood by Russian MiGs. We won't start a war over a single russian fighter bomber. To anyone in Western Europe, Russian aircraft and submarine intrusions into sovereign territories is a weekly occurrence. The Turks aren't used to Putin's tired old Cold War games of constant intimidation. Too much dangerous posturing and now someone's lost an eye. -
Happy birthday!

The US Office is superior in my opinion (rare case considering all the failed US adaptions of British shows, only other one I can think of that was better was US Whose Line) The brit Office took cringe humour to the extreme, to the point where its physically painful to watch I find. I dunno, some people like it but to me it seems like comedy for vindictive jerks and assholes. I grew up with older british comedy where you may be laughing at people but you're not laughing down at them. There's got to be -some- empathy, comedy is there to disarm wroth and reveal the humanity in all of us. So for example the boss in the US one is a pathetic goofball but you end up loving the character as he tries and fails to fit in and be cool.

Mario Kart 64 was the best mario kart by far Course this was PS1 era, the age when PC gamers were still gods among mensch. Fair play to the N64, it didn't have as much nausea inducing texture and perspective warping as the PS1 or Dreamcast

Can you save and continue or do you have to finish the game in one sitting? If the former maybe a weekly game for an hour or two would be good. :3 We could make a thread about it and keep everyone updated on the progress

7.5/10 I like the beat but that female vocal sample was starting to grate a teensy little bit by the end. On the theme of female vocals: -
