My buddy from the U.S.F.S. in Bellator MMA [Spike TV]
Alvarez replied to Alvarez's topic in Sports Talk
Yes, Sir... -
Wow Col., you work quickly! That was a lot of fun.

Watch the video... is probably one of the nicest guys I know. His nickname is "The Cupcake". Judging by the way he breaks Patricky Pitbull's arm, however... I'd prefer to NEVER get on his bad side. Coming January 31st on Spike TV, the mis-named "Cupcake" takes on David Rickels, another "Mountain-Man" type fighter with a mean streak a mile wide. Gentlemen [and ladies]... I have been looking forward to this fight for some time. For those of you who enjoy MMA, The Pride of the Treasure State is sure to throw down hard and make this a match worth tuning into.

Lopez, McCutchen already won! Pirates fans everywhere are still like "Meh."
-
End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhaal. Great cop / cartel flick.
-
Andrew McCutchen, OF (Pittsburgh) Good for him, good for the Pirates. Honestly if they don't get out from under Liriano and pick up either Chris Capuano or Aaron Harang... Pittsburgh will be going into the season with HALF a rotation again. Some teams have trouble with run support, the Pirates have trouble with mound support!

Looks like an instant classic. Baseball is on the rise again, and a good movie always helps popularity. I love how the poster is Peewee Reese with his arm around Robinson. Classy.

Surprised the L.A. Kings bit had NOTHING to do with their Ice Crew. My GOD, those girls are amazing! Pretty sure that's what got me into hockey in the first place. That, and Gretzky. Interesting fact: Wayne Gretzky's son Trevor was drafted by... *gasp* THE CHICAGO CUBS! Dude doesn't even play hockey, how weird is that?
-
Add me I'll play. I've been having the same problems as you. At least people still play on PC! XBOX version has been dead or dying for a while now.
-
Right now it looks like Andrew McCutchen is in the lead... Was definitely NOT expecting that. Harper and Trout don'e even have a full 162 games under their belts, it's a shame that either one of them is being considered. Especially Harper, Mr. "I Hate the Media". I can't think of a more cantankerous candidate. Considering the fact that Posey took home the MVP and a ring last year, it's hard not to see him being at the top of the pack. GOD, I hate the Giants. Posey is turning out to be their Mike Piazza... :[

indivigilance@gmail.com Sunday is perfect.

So when I bought my XBOX 360, it came with a couple Arcade games, including Hexic... World's most addicting Match 3 game evarrr. I even downloaded one for my phone, and another for my iPad so I'm never without my fix! Problem is... I can never get past Level 7! Does anyone know if there even IS a Level 8? Does anyone even PLAY this? I feel like such a failure, I need help. :[

This year, we get to choose who graces the cover of MLB '13 "The Show". You can vote here. Candidates are as follows, in no particular order: Matt Kemp [OF], Los Angeles Dodgers CC Sabathia [sP], New York Yankees Andrew McCutchen [OF], Pittsburgh Pirates Bryce Harper [OF], Washington Nationals Buster Posey [C], San Francisco Gnats <---LOL Ryan Braun [OF], Milwaukee Brewers Miguel Cabrera [iNF], Detroit Tigers Seeing as how I bleed Dodger Blue, my choice was made FOR me. Still, Matt Kemp is one of the most feared hitters in the National League, with defense that makes other hitters cry. Even when he's in a slump, he gets pitched around. Not only that, but he does a great deal of charity work with the Dodgers organization around SoCal and Arizona. A great guy all around, and the kind of player you build around. I'm just curious whether anyone else has been voting, who they voted for, and why. Or even why you DIDN'T vote for someone *cough*BUSTER*cough*...

Good on ya. I know people who've lived in California their whole lives and never seen the beach, but you're going clear overseas! I know that star Dodgers' pitcher Clayton Kershaw and his wife started a program in Zambia, maybe you'll meet that beast of a southpaw!

It's about bloody time. I KNEW that the Kings' Stanley Cup run was going to be ruined somehow for years to come... Didn't think it would expand into the whole league! Still, no Winter Classic, and I actually watched FOOTBALL this year. That's how desperate I was.

These are the same people who think there ought to be a franchise in LONDON. Mind you, Los Angeles has been without a team for almost 20 years! 2 Hockey teams, 2 Baseball teams, 2 Soccer teams, 2 Basketball teams... NO football. But they want a franchise in LONDON?!

Yes Sir, the S.A. teams are looking slick this go around. Japan is going to be missing quite a few key players now, particularly on the mound [i think Yu Darvish declined, a HUGE part of their previous success]. I'm not sure if it's going to continue through the tournament, but Barry Larkin was coaching for Brasil in the Qualifiers this fall. Talk about a legend, the guy doesn't speak a lick of Portugese and he had them playing better than half the teams who showed up. This is Brasil's first appearance and qualification. All in all, I am REALLY looking forward to this competition. Hopefully there will be some games Stateside or in Toronto again, I'd love to go in person... Be the only one in a Netherlands hat.

The Army moustaches are out in full force... L1A1s back then, Badger?

A few years back. Building a bridge without power tools due to Federal Wilderness regulations... I think my back suffered permanent damage on this project! Thanks, Uncle Sam!

VBS is easily one of my favorite news sources. The documentary where Suroosh investigates the Pakistani gun market is amazing. $36 for a 9mm!

Attached is my custom text file that changes the team names, class names, and a few other tidbits. just install into yoursteamname/day of defeat source/dods/resource. Long story short here, I wanted to feel like I was joining a firefight, not the whole bloody war! Because "Allies" could be anyone from Canada to the USSR, I didn't like that name. And since "Axis" could be Japanese or Italian, same thing. I decided to go for something more specific, and tailored to the 1st MRB. Here are the following major changes... Allies have been changed to Marine Raiders. Axis have been changed to Panzergrenadiers. All classes have been renamed according to 1st MRB weapon restrictions: Rifleman has been changed to Private / Oberschutze. Rocket has been changed to Private First Class / Gefreiter. Assault has been changed to Corporal / Unteroffizier. Support has been changed to Sergeant / Unterfeldwebel. Sniper has been changed to Staff Sergeant / Feldwebel. Machine Gunner has been changed to Gunnery Sergeant / Oberfeldwebel (this change was arbitrary, as weapon restrictions end at Staff Sergeant). Some flags have been renamed, for example: First Axis has been changed to First Grenadiers' First Allied has been changed to First Marines' etc... Hope some of you find this minor change worth using in your own DoD:S! If you don't like it, delete it. The game will re-write its own when you join another server. dod_english.txt

Well, it's that time of year again. Pitchers and Catchers report for Spring Training next month, and before we know it, baseball season will be in full swing [ha!]. Of course, before the regular season comes the international tournament that sprang up when baseball / softball were being removed from the Olympics. Here are the countries who qualified this year, who are YOU rooting for?: Australia Brazil Canada China Chinese Taipei Cuba Dominican Republic Italy Japan Kingdom of the Netherlands Korea Mexico Puerto Rico Spain United States Venezuela Personally, I'm rooting for the Dutch [Netherlands]. Baseball became popular over there after WWII, much in the way it took the Japanese by storm during our occupation. Right now, Japan holds the only two titles [2006, 2009]. Don't take ANY of these teams lightly, they are all packed with Major League talent and top prospects, not just random dudes who can play ball!
