I don't necessarily disagree, but I wouldn't go crowning the Netherlands as the champions yet. I hoped they would come out stronger against Australia, and they didn't. Germany looked very good as well. Brazil has disappointed so far.
The English played terribly this afternoon. At times they looked like a quality team, but then they had stretches where they couldn't make a pass or play to save their lives.
What a fantastic start to this tournament. I've watched: Brazil-Croatia, Spain-Netherlands, Italy-England, Switzerland-Ecuador, France-Honduras, and Argentina-Bosnia, and seen parts of a few of the other games. Unbelievable stuff.
I think it was probably the right decision. I was alright with the hiring at first because I was under the impression that management had gone to the veteran players and asked for their insight. However, as the season wore on, it became apparent that Torts was ill suited with the makeup of our team. The Sedins are an elite offensive talent, but playing the PK is not the best use of their icetime. AV rarely put them out for a defensive zone faceoff, which limited their usage as well. A coach somewhere in between our previous two is what this team requires.
It's comical to watch Yankee fans complaining about players leaving for more money when the Yankee organization has bought every player they've wanted.
