  1. Yeah... What Ford said, Happy Birthday. (Minus the naked birthday cake man.)
  2. Check it out... 1000 posts here too!
  3. It's fine. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if more people had something to say. Our friend here could always use some perspective.
  4. Wow, it's always amazing to hear that I'm an asshole from the people that never interact with me. I don't know where you get the idea that we treat our privates like crap. Two people have said this, but have yet to explain. First off, the biggest thing is staff positions, a way for any member to show off their skill out of the game. It's not blocked from privates. Anyone can apply for staff positions to prove themselves, and I always accept them with an open mind. It's not my fault that the chief of the office you picked has a certain way he wants to run it and you didn't like it. Well, then I guess it is having a say in the proceedings of the unit. Anyone can suggest changes, ideas, and we always listen. The realism campaign was not thought up by our Captain, not Blackwatch's captain, it was one of our NCOs that suggested the idea and we listened and also implemented it. Not everything is a good idea, but we always take it into mind. What does that leave? Our NCOs and up are mean... Ok ok, so not everyone is milk and cookies, but that's reality. Personalities collide, people talk, argue, make friends, make enemies, etc. That's the nature of life, and just because it's a game doesn't make it any different. We're based on a military structure, and I'll bet life on base is probably not as comfortable and relaxed as our improvised structure. What really bugs me is that it seems that you like to rub in the fact that you were a 2nd Lieutenant in another unit. Fuck, I was a Captain of another unit, the only reason I am where I am is because I've earned the trust and respect of the guys that started the 1st MRB. If you are sore that you didn't automatically get 2ndLt. when you joined the unit, take a look at what we have to go on. Our only idea of your leadership skills other than the fact that you held the rank of LT. elsewhere is going to be based on your personality. Since we can't possibly know about your pleasant personality from a tidbit in an application, there's the lack of communication on ventrilo that makes us think you aren't very social and the constant breach of chain of command that gives us the idea that you think you are above authority... Seeing as you know how to run a unit better than us, how would you proceed with that information? I'd like to say that you will be missed, but in all seriousness, you have got to have been the most annoying private I've ever had to deal with. I don't know what kind of realism unit you were used to running, but when a 1st Lieutenant is in the middle of running a practice for a planned official realism, when is it appropriate to constantly steam message and talk ingame during said practice about another official realism that you, a private, were trying to set up with another unit? Did you have any sort of Chain of Command in your unit? I'm a real pushover so I answered your questions and I also directed you to where you could continue with your effort. I was certainly not an ass about it, and if I sounded exasperated at all, it's because I was fairly busy and frustrated at the time. I've answered every question you've asked me, I've looked into everything you've brought up to me, I don't see how I have been an asshole to you in any way... If I am an asshole, it is only to those that disrespect me or my friends. I really don't have to explain anything to you, but that is what I do. So Good Riddance, I'm sorry that you thought this was a waste of your precious time and skill.
  5. Yeah, not this one...
  6. Well, it's unfortuante to hear that you feel that way. I don't exactly know how we've been disrespectful towards you in any way during of your time here in the 1st MRB. We take respect very seriously, and to accuse everyone of disrespect is something that isn't taken lightly not to mention unprecedented. Considering the fact that you have been a part of this unit for barely a week, it's hard to imagine any basis for your accusation. Although, I don't think you deserve an explanation, it is in my nature to clear things up. With all do respect. This unit has been running and growing for almost a year now, and our Command Staff has been apart of the realism community for almost 4 years each. To say that we "preach Respect and fail to show it" is not only an insult to our members, I take personal offense to it as well. Even the newest members gain respect, but they have to earn it. If you felt that you are entitled to respect just because it is the word of our unit, you are gravely mistaken. Which is possibly why you have decided to leave the unit. Just to forewarn you, this is how things happen in the real world. You must show respect, dedication and humility to gain the respect and trust of a group of people as tightly knit as the 1st Marine Raiders. If you feel you are so much better than us, that you can demand respect without showing any of your own, you are going to get your ears chewed out by anyone here that has common sense. As a realism unit that bases itself off of a real United States Marine Battalion, we pride ourselves in being accurate in almost all functions of said unit. We have hardass SNCOs and hardass Officers, deal with it. As 2ndLt. Ford has so eloquently stated to me, if he has hurt any feelings, it is his job to weed out the losers from the incoming members, and he's glad to have done so.
  7. Heh, yeah it surprised the fuck out of me.
  8. Sorry Ford, now that you mention it, I remember you saying you'd pay for it... Would you like me to reset the voting? Although, amazingly enough it does look like the Yeas will still outnumber the Nays even with the idea of it costing the unit $$.
  9. Haha, yep. This was all my old laptop. Dell replaced my video card, my RAM, my motherboard and my lcd screen. Finally they just gave up and did a complete system replacement. They gave me the laptop that would be the equivalent to the one we bought originally at the time. The just so happened to be a top of the line XPS laptop. So agreed, hooray for extreme warranties! This is what I had: And this is what they sent me:
  10. Colored lines like this?: Or this?: Or this? Or dead pixels that leave tracks? It's usually a heating problem, when was the last time you took your computer apart and blew it out with some canned air? However, once you start seeing the lines, and dead pixels, it might be too late.
  11. HLStatsX is $8 a month.
  12. Happy Birthday bud, one more year until you can legally drink in America! Look at the up side, you are no longer a teenager!
  13. Thanks!
  14. Just click the scary pink ghost... I don't know why it won't play in the little window. It does play though.
  15. Ouch, that was a painful pun.
  16. There's a transmit volume in your steam settings too... maybe try that next?
  17. Have you tried going into sound settings in your control panel and manually turning down your mic? Or gone through the headset setup?
  18. What did the bench feel like?
  19. Because I'm sure any of us would have a chance with these girls... I know that's not the point, but I won't set my bar so high.
  20. I don't know why I didn't post this one earlier, my favorite sweatshirt.
  21. I'm just kidding Warren... I love watching the Olympics, I'm just pissed I don't have a TV to watch it on. Plus, we don't get CBC in Utah, I'll have to be back in WA to watch it.
  22. Fuck the Winter Olympics!
  23. At least she seems proportional... so, does that mean she has a softball mitt vag?
  24. Hahaha, yeah all the comments are "It's Real!" "It's Fake!" Looks like it might be a pretty good movie though.
