Such a talkative recruit, hope to see more of you around the forums. I was born in Northern California, moved to Washington Seattle area when I was 9, lived there most of my life. Came to Utah for college, still attending. I started off pre-med with focus on chemistry, got slapped in the face by the weight of chemistry and pre-med workload and changed my major to computer science. Got a job in IT at my university, been at it just over 3 months now, and loving it. Realism-wise, I joined up with the 6th Ranger Battalion in December 2007 and have been in the realism game since. I'll leave the details on how I got from private in the 6th RB to being a major in the 1st MRB for another day. Ranks, well if you mean the avatar to the left, that's determined by unit promotions, when you've passed your BCT there's a whole topic on "how to get promoted." Signature ribbons are a little thing I came up with a while back with the help of a few others, I believe SSgt. Ford was the first to add ribbons to his signature, Lt. Col. Parker made all the images, and I wrote all the coding. Medals are in the same boat. This game is waaaay too expensive. I might try the demo, but I have a feeling that I'll be waiting for the price to come down.

I would rather we avoid dabbling in copyrights. Even if we were to claim copyright on any of the things we make it would cost us quite a bit in legal fees. Not to mention, we already dance on the line of infringement from Valve, the US Military as well as whatever else we are using without permission by accepting donations. Merchandising the unit would probably put us on the map with everyone's legal departments. I'm sure there's leniency in the law for what we do, and we probably could claim non-profit or whatever... As expansive as checking wikipedia for legal advice, and considering that I am not a lawyer, we would need to find someone with actual knowledge and experience in these areas.

Permission sets on the forums will always inherit the "better." Even if he is in the normal user group (which also has permission to start polls), he would inherit the ability to start polls from his Corporal user group because it is the better permission. If I were to mark you as banned (no forum access at all) and then gave you the Lt. Col. user group as a secondary group, you would gain all access from the latter. I even tested his access with the test user, gave myself all the permissions he had and was still able to post polls. I've double checked your permissions and you should have the ability to post polls. Polls can be made at any time in a topic. To create a poll, when making a new topic click on the link that says "Click here to manage this topic's poll" under Poll Options This will open the poll management, come up with a title for your poll Then you can add up to 7 poll questions with 20 choices per question

Crazyness. I've only experienced two building fires. One was in 6th grade when they were re-taring the roof and someone knocked over the torch and the other was in the dorms when some pothead lit his desk on fire. (What I heard was he was playing with hand sanitizer and covered his desk in it, guess what: wood burns even better when you douse it in rubbing alcohol!) But I can say I've never experienced a possible murder/suicide. That's intense.

Haha, that's the XPS version of my first laptop which I burnt out the video card in about a year.

You should copy/paste your config text, that will help them figure out which parts you may need to change.
