Try running it as administrator (right click the shortcut to vent, run as administrator) If that fixes it, you can go into the properties and make it always run as admin.

Alright, not sure if you have these options in Vista, but you can check: Go to your control panel. Go to sound (manage audio devices) Right click the device you are using for DoDs/vent/etc. Go to Properties. In the Advanced tab there should be a setting called Exclusive Mode Uncheck the box that says "Allow Applications to take exclusive control of this device." Again, I know this works for Win7, not sure about vista... Also, are you running vent as administrator?

What OS do you use? XP? Vista? 7? Mac? And are you using a hardware input mixer?

There's a channel spam autoban that bans users for jumping between two or more channels twice in less than .5 seconds. I've lowered the intervals some more, so you would have to have a script to be able to jump between channels that fast. I hope that helps. The vent server fluctuates every once in a while, we can open a ticket if lag issues continue. If you hit lag again, type tracert vent14.gameservers.com into your cmd and post that for us to use in the ticket.

Alright, you are unbanned. However, this was not an autoban. Anyone care to explain why Pangilinan was permanently banned? Don't make me look up the server logs.

I don't think our servers crashed last night... We won't know if you are banned or not until you post your steamID... The best way to find out if you are banned is to try rejoining our server. The Sergeant is right, you will need to fill out an unban request for us to do anything. You did not provide enough info with this post for us to help you figure anything out. If you need help finding your steamID, this can help.

Is this still an issue? My roommate and I never had a problem, and we had the same IP address.

At the bottom right corner is the system sound control settings. Click output and make sure the default matches what you use for everything else. Do you check the use Direct Sound checkbox? And if you do, you might want to manually select the correct output device.

Did you check to make sure your output device is correct?
