  1. Right now I'm in Georgia, but within the month I'm being stationed in Okinawa, Japan. I got lucky and got the dream station right out of AIT. Speaking of painting, they had us repaint the curb outside our building brown, then decided they liked the original color more and we had to paint it back.
  2. I will own this. Also, this a first gen thing, think of how far the computer came from its first generation, and then apply it to this. THE FUTURE IS NOW!
  3. Sorry about that, check your messages, the code you needs in there.
  4. MURPHY, AUDIE L. Rank and organization: Second Lieutenant, U.S. Army, Company B 1 5th Infantry, 3d Infantry Division. Place and date: Near Holtzwihr France, 26 January 1945. Entered service at: Dallas, Tex. Birth: Hunt County, near Kingston, Tex. G.O. No.. 65, 9 August 1945. Citation 2d Lt. Murphy commanded Company B, which was attacked by 6 tanks and waves of infantry. 2d Lt. Murphy ordered his men to withdraw to prepared positions in a woods, while he remained forward at his command post and continued to give fire directions to the artillery by telephone. Behind him, to his right, 1 of our tank destroyers received a direct hit and began to burn. Its crew withdrew to the woods. 2d Lt. Murphy continued to direct artillery fire which killed large numbers of the advancing enemy infantry. With the enemy tanks abreast of his position, 2d Lt. Murphy climbed on the burning tank destroyer, which was in danger of blowing up at any moment, and employed its .50 caliber machinegun against the enemy. He was alone and exposed to German fire from 3 sides, but his deadly fire killed dozens of Germans and caused their infantry attack to waver. The enemy tanks, losing infantry support, began to fall back. For an hour the Germans tried every available weapon to eliminate 2d Lt. Murphy, but he continued to hold his position and wiped out a squad which was trying to creep up unnoticed on his right flank. Germans reached as close as 10 yards, only to be mowed down by his fire. He received a leg wound, but ignored it and continued the single-handed fight until his ammunition was exhausted. He then made his way to his company, refused medical attention, and organized the company in a counterattack which forced the Germans to withdraw. His directing of artillery fire wiped out many of the enemy; he killed or wounded about 50. 2d Lt. Murphy's indomitable courage and his refusal to give an inch of ground saved his company from possible encirclement and destruction, and enabled it to hold the woods which had been the enemy's objective. Also: Audie Murphy was credited with destroying six tanks in addition to killing over 240 German soldiers and wounding and capturing many others. His principal U.S. decorations included the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, two Silver Stars, the Legion of Merit, two Bronze Stars with Valor device, and three Purple Hearts (all for genuine combat wounds). Murphy participated in campaigns in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France and Germany, as denoted by his European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one silver battle star (denoting five campaigns), four bronze battle stars, plus a bronze arrowhead representing his two amphibious assault landings at Sicily and southern France. During the French Campaign, Murphy was awarded two Presidential Citations, one from the 3rd Inf, Division, and one from the 15th Inf. Regiment during the Holtzwihr action. They now give out an award to distinguished NCOs with his name on it.
  5. Oh man, I'm beating people and I'm going through my phone on 3G.
  6. It's alright, although not really a signature as much as a picture, if you get that. 5/10
  7. As much as I'd love to continue doing this, I haven't really had the time to, and I've sort of lost the urge to continue. If anyone wants to pick up on this, just say it, and I'll post up the code so you can keep the format going.
  8. Yeah, ACUs are awful, I myself wish we'd never gotten rid of the BDU. And fuck berets, seriously, worst headgear ever.
  9. There are a few on base, but I personally haven't met any or trained with them.
  10. >SAVE Your position has been saved in FILE 1 >CHECK INVENTORY You take the rucksack off your back and peer inside. You find RATIONS(3), a SURVIVAL KNIFE, a sealed bag with FRESH CLOTHING, and a BOTTLE OF WATER. >_ Editor's Note: I'm no longer going to provide options, as it limits your creativity and i feel this could a lot more interesting if I let you try to make up commands. That, and that's how old text RPGs worked anyhow, for the most part. Also, the way I see it, you have no restrictions as to what you can do.
  11. Not in my company, but it has happened. No, so I don't have any idea. Yep. We lived like next to each other, I was in Monroeville. Small world. I mentioned my MOS, I'm a 25F, which is the guy who keeps the comms up and running. I have, but the concept of getting shot at a lot doesn't appeal to me, plus I'm more of a tech guy.
  12. Ha, I guess the simplest answer to that is a lot. There's a hell of a lot of people like that. Just utter fucking retards.
  13. No need to quote this one. I'm a 25F, which is a Switching System Operator and Maintainer. Basically, I'm a one man phone and internet company. I sit in a box all day and keep the phones and data transfers working. Not exactly a Rambo job, but it's alright.
  14. Not amazing, but not awful either. Most people are in eight man rooms, but due to a bit of luck, I'm in a four man room with a private bathroom. Don't take this for regular army though. Training bases barracks's pretty much blow compared to regular army barracks's.
  15. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... HAHAHAHA... Oh, you're serious? Army chicks are the most repugnant, scum of the earth creatures to ever roam the planet. Just so you know. Fort Gordon, its next to Augusta.
  16. By far the M240B. Its a belt-fed machine gun that fires 7.62mm rounds at a speed of around 800 rounds a minute. It turns anything you point it at into swiss cheese.
  17. None, this has been great for me. I have no idea, and this is what I meant by the kinds of questions that could be in trouble. Don't ask about military strength and whatnot, because I will not put out that sort of information.
  18. It's a Fort, and it's large enough to have its own zip code and area code. If I had to guess, I'd say it has the average population of a small city.
  19. Oh shit, I'd forgotten about this, thanks for bumping this. It's a bit late now, and I cant think to well at the moment, but tomorrow this'll be the next segment.
  20. In all honesty, nothing has been too terribly difficult, but if I were to pick any one thing, I'd have to say night time live fire at basic, where they shot over our heads and we low crawled in sand and shit. It wasn't scary or anything, it was just a long ass way to crawl in wet fucking sand. I guess if you want a humorous answer, I'd say its holding my sanity in this terrible high school like training base.
  21. If I could reach through the internet and punch you in the head, I would. Surprisingly, the food is rather good. Its a mix of everything, but generally there's the staples of some sort of chicken or fish, they have steak from time to time, and there was some bomb ass salmon for lunch the other day. Theres a full salad bar, soda and juice and whatnot, and usually theres some kind of ice cream or something. The area range is 800 meters, and the point target range is 550, but if you can hit anything with great accuracy using the iron sights at that range, you're a better shot than I. Also, I see you're from Pittsburgh. Where at, we might have been neighbors.
  22. Well, sitting on a base all day can be incredibly boring, so as a time killer, and potential learning experience for some, throw some questions my way about the military. Ask about whatever you want, the food, the living, the day to day crap, whatever. As long as its not some shit that could get me in trouble, I have no problem answering questions.
  23. How much do the servers cost to function? Give me the monthly cost and I'll double it.
  24. If you do it, I'll be forced to one up you with my retarded collection of 2000+ wallpapers.
  25. Ha, you're gonna see a lot of messages from me when you get out of school, I was gonna help, but see I got beat to it.
