I'm thinking of joining the police force when i fishish High School and University, but i was wondering a few things, Turner or someone else on the Police please reply. First, is it dangerous or not, my mom will be pissed and kill me if i get shot or something. Second, can you put in a requisistion to use your own gun, or must you use the standard issue firearm? Third, how gruelling is police academy? is it like boot camp? If i could get a reply it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

As someone going through the process, I may be able to give you some insight.

Yes it will be dangerous, you are dealing with some pretty scummy characters. Will you be being shot at every day? No, but there will be instances were you could get hurt badly.

The using your own gun thing. It realllllly depends on which police force you're joining. Some flat out say no, some make you do a lot of extra work to let you do this, and some say its fine. I would look into which department you thinking about joining up with, it should be stated somewhere on their website.

The academy thing, yea its going to be hard, your being trained how to catch, combat, and subdue criminals. So yea it will be pretty demanding, but remember they are not setting you up to fail, they're spending god knows how much money on your training. They will do everything in their power to help you succeed once your that far. Tutors for the academic, fitness trainers for the physical and whatever else you need to succeed. But it will be tough, if you need to ask "When should I begin training for this?" you should start training now!

Hope this was helpful somewhat.

My father has 27 years on the force and this is what he said to your last two questions:

1. Some departments will allow you to use your own firearm as long as they approve of it and you qualify on the range with it. Others have a standard issue firearm that you must use and cannot substitute. Your best bet if you wanna use your own firearms is to become a deputy and make it to sheriff in some town where everyone knows everyone.

2. My father said the State Police Academy was harder then boot camp for some. Your first day there, you'd be standing in a suit and tie with your bags in hand and then the instructors would run you up and down flights of stairs for a good portion of the day. They also had a marathon runner come and run the troop to improve their cardio.

That first question, well obviously police departments like L.A.P.D. are really dangerous. they have their own division dedicated to recruitment due to the fact that they on average lose 30 officers a month to either death, quiting or corruption. They're also twice as likely to shoot themselves then get shot by a violent felon according to statistics. Other places such as Maysville, NC, the worst crime to happen there was breach of the peace by some guy playing his music too loud while cruising through that bumfuck nowhere place. Either way, your playing with fire just being a police officer altogether:

Take a look

Don't know if you remember that whole incident, but there was no obvious motive for that prick to kill four cops doing paperwork at a coffee shop. When I told my dad I was thinking about becoming a police officer myself this is what he said:

Dad "What do ya wanna be a cop for? The gun, the badge? You should go be a firefighter."

17yr me "I don't wanna be a firefighter, why the fuck do I wanna save cats out of trees?"

Dad "Listen, your body has a breaking limit. Sure, 24 years old comes and you can hop fences and tackle criminals all day. But what about when your fifty like me with arthritis?"

Dad "Besides when you see a police car outside of your house what do you automatically think of? Oh shit what did I do, right? When people see firefighters outside of their houses they're happy because they know your there to help, not fuck em over."

I'd just take it all in stride my friend and keep your options open ;)

Yes   Which game title are you applying for? Hell Let Loose   If you've selected Hell Let Loose, do you understand that this game is currently not cross platform capable and only PC players currently may apply? ( Steam or PC Game Pass) Yes   Why do you wish to join the 1st Marine Raiders? I've played BFV and milsimed in it, and it was a lot more fun when I milsimed. and I enjoy playing HLL, so I think it is going to be more fun when I join.   Did any of our current members play a part in you enlisting? If so, who? If none, how did you learn about us: I found you guys from a website called disboard when looking for HLL milsim groups to join.   This unit offers more than just a place to play games with each other, do you have any online skills you think would be useful? no   Do you have any Leadership experience that you think will be helpful? I'm not sure if it will be helpfull, but I used to be in BFV milsim groups and in my last one I got to [E-7] out of [E-1] to [O-8], so I was a NCO and I helped the officers with whatever they needed doing, weather it was assisting with training, settling disputes or helping them decide what was appropriate disciplinary action. And when we were in combat I was usually assigned to lead my own squad.   Have you ever been in a realism unit before, and if so, which unit was it? yes. I was in quite a few BFV milsim groups, although I was only in one at any given time. unfortunately, I have left the discord servers and I do not remember the names of them. if you would like, I could probably give a reference to someone who was an officer in most of the groups I was in.   By posting this Enlistment form, I acknowledge the instructions completely, declare that I am 16 years old or older, and agree that I have and will follow server and unit rules maturely and respectfully or face immediate rejection.
