My computer lists my monitor as a Gateway HD1900 Plug and Play. Max Res is 1440 x 900

Who knows maybe i am just so used to playing with crappy graphics that this change will just take time to get used to.

But what is really weird is that i played assassin's creed turned it up to full graphics and noticed only positive changes.

Weird but maybe that is because i was running that in DX10 and DoD:S runs in DX9

Yea, it sounds like a driver issue to me (try updating)

Although, keep in mind DOD:S is an ancient game really. It's not going to be 'amazing', ever. Regardless of your video card. It's a bad game to make that comparison on, and that's probably why you saw some increases playing a newer game, but none in DOD:S.

Download ccleaner. I am willing ot bet you have some old nvidia stuff in there that is messing things up for you.

Then, you are going to want to check your options in game. Set your resolution to your monitors default (1440x900). Crank up your AA, AF, turn on HDR.... all the bells and whistles. It should look loads better.

Lastly.... 1440x900 is kind of a low resolution. And DODS is hardly a demanding game. Check out a DX11 game and you should see an amazing difference. I would look into getting a new monitor before long. A good 1920x1080 monitor will be amazing with that card.

Check your BIOS as well. I have dual video cards and it was supposed to be baddass, but for a while it seemed that my graphics were crap and even the crappiest games would over-stress my computer and crash. I found that my computer was booting the on-board grapics chipset on my motherboard rather than with the videocards, and they would not show up in my device manager. So, check you BIOS for graphics adapter or something along those lines to make sure you're booting with the correct graphics card.
