Picture making programs?

I see some of ya guys have some cool pics that you edited and put your names in it. What editing software did you guys use? Any of them free? I do prefer them to be, as I don't care to spend like $30-$40 like usual editing software is. I'd like to make one for myself, but the one I have is called Paint.net, and it's a simple program.

Generally you will find most of them use Photoshop.

GIMP is probably the best free editing program you will find.

If you aren't afraid of downloading pirated programs (not condoning this) then you can easily find a torrent for Photoshop.

Oh ok. Yea I thought photoshop wasn't free. I'll see if I can download. Yea I have a program JUST like gimp. Doesn't seem to be much though.

GIMP is free, and has about 90% of the functionality of Photoshop and in many ways, for what most people use it for, is every bit as good.

I used GIMP for a while and got to a point where I enjoyed it more than Photoshop because of how intuitively the interface was laid out in some respects.

That said - I use Photoshop 99% of the time anymore because it's just... well, the industry standard. Yes, pirated copy. I'm not shelling out $2500 for software.

I'd recommend just torrenting down a copy from the interweb, or using GIMP. But yea, anything that is MS paint is ... bad.

Press "Run" in your computer, type in CMD, paste " %windir%\system32\mspaint.exe " and press Enter and woila!

Ok thanks you guys. I guess I'll just have to take a class on picture design or something lol I guess I'm not good with designing my own stuff thanks though!
