Dan Marino holds the single season record for passing yards at 5,084. Tom Brady is on pace right now to throw for over 7,000 yards.

Does he break Marino's record this season? Call it now.

I'm saying yes.

If you look at his current stats, 1,327 yards, and 11 TD's in ONLY 3 GAMES, he is currently projected around 7,500 yards and close to 55 TD's. Obviously this won't be the case, but even still, we could be watching a record breaking year for arguably one of the greatest QB's to ever play the game. He already holds the single season TD record when he threw for 50 in 2007.

Growing up I watched Marino in his later days as a dolphin. Big fan. And as I saw Brett Favre break most of his records a couple years back it tore me up. So I will say NO, Brady will not break his record. Dan the man will live on!

I loved watching Marino play.

I fucking hate Brady.

I'd never wish him to break his legs or anything - but I hope he has a swing for the worse soon.

umad bro? Brady+welker+The law firm= nice.

I also actually never liked Tom Brady, BUT I do admit he is a good QB, so sadly I say yes he will break it, but if he doesn't I will laugh my ass off!

Watching Marino play was fun along with watching Troy Aikmen too (of course). As much as i hate to admit it in regards to consistency and shear aweness when it comes to being a QB.....Tom brady claims the top spot even though i hate his guts.....he sure does play the game right though. I gain much more enjoyment out of watching him lose then seeing him win nowadays....but not as much as i enjoy watching Payton Manning and his brother eli choke. And i dont wanna hear about romo...i already know he chokes all the time -_-

hes not even leading the league at this point! brees with 4 straight 350 yard games for the first time in league history.

though the one thing brady has going for him is the fact that NE often runs up the score, so he usually gets more chances for easy yards late.

He's is actually leading the league. He has 2163, Brees has 2152. The reason they are so close is because the Pats have gone to a mixed offense. They were strictly passing the first 3 games and switched to close to 50/50 run/pass play calls for the next 2 games. Even with that happening, Brady still threw for 320 yards in 33 attempts against the Jets . Belichick didn't want the team to solely rely on Brady so that is the reason for the transition into the running game.

It looked like the were pretty dominantly passing against Dallas so hopefully we will see more passing after their bye this week.

I'm not saying Brees isn't a great QB, but this discussion was about will Brady break the record, not post how much you hate him... I could care less if you hate someone you will never meet.

why do you have to be a dick about it? i didn't say anything about disliking brady. i actually kept it on topic with my opinion that he has a better chance because the pats often run up the score. my bad about thinking brees had passed him. my only point in bringing that up was just noting how much things can change when you base things off of a 2 game projection like you did. he went from obliterating the record to barely leading the league in a matter of 4 weeks.

regardless, i will just bow out of the conversation because i really dont feel like being talked down to for no good reason.

Exactly.

You didn't say anything about disliking him, nor did you change the topic. So why are you assuming I was directing any of those things at you? No need to be a dick about it. I only quoted your post as a reference to the fact that he is currently leading the league in yards.

I get your point, and Brees will pass Brady this week and it will probably stay that way until week 11 when Brees has his bye and Brady has a chance to catch back up.

Sorry, Tom Brady might be the "greatest" right now stat's wise, but I personally think that Rodgers is the greatest QB in the league right now. The man knows how to run a team, and has a super bowl in his third year as starting QB, and is on track for another one. Do not get me wrong Brady is a good QB, but I think that Rodgers will surpass him in time.
