Question

Posted

Hey, i've been seeing this message on my flag on the taskbar for a couple weeks now, just wndering if any1 else has seen it?

This is the error report:

Address a problem with Steam

Steam has stopped working properly.

A newer version of Steam is available for download that might solve this problem. Valve Corporation recommends updating to the latest version of Steam to take advantage of security and stability improvements.

Click to go to the Valve Corporation website to download the latest version of Steam

I just re-formmatted my pc last week, and reinstalling steam does not make this go away.

I just wanna know if something can come out of this.

Is it a report flag that continuously pops up or is it an unresolved issue (meaning it happened once or twice and it is saved to your system tray)?

You can try this:

1.) Exit Steam

2.) Browse to your Steam folder on your computer (usually C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam)

3.) Now delete the following files: ClientRegistry.blob (optionally, steamclient.dll can be deleted, but I don't see that as a fix for your issue)

4.) Restart Steam

That should force a steam update.
