Took French for 3 years, Japanese for 4 years, and German for a few weeks, not fluent in any of them. I like to think that I know more Japanese than them all, but I think I can remember more French...

English, a year of Japanese, two and a half of German, and Tagalog + smatterings of other Philippine dialects.

I scraped through with 50% on my Afrikaans final in high school so technically I speak it.

It's like old fashioned hick-farmer dutch.

Dutch is like sloppy, monotonic Afrikaans with bad spelling.

Btw Logue I was in Cape Town last year for the World Cup... Afrikaans sounded like a really cool language. It sounds moke Dutch than German for sure.
