Ok I gotta start off talking about my Leafs 7-2-1 to start the season, I'm still cautiously optimistic about it but man it's reminding me of the '93 season. Who would have thought that Kessel would be the leading scorer in the NHL right now? And Phaneuf one of the leading scorers on the blue line? One thing that needs to improve is the PP and PK, if they want to make the playoffs they need to get special teams working. We are officially the youngest team in hockey right now and it's not even showing but like I said I'm still cautiously optimistic about them so far.

Holy shit balls is Edmonton not a fun hockey team to watch or what? Every time that Hall/Nugent-Hopkins/Eberle line hits the ice you know they're gonna make some magic happen. They're D is a little shaky at times but they're 6-2-2 because of Khabibulin, that guy is rebuilding the Bulin Wall I tell ya. He is a solid goalie right now but his age has to be a factor, I give these guys a couple years and they're gonna be the new power house in the NHL with or without a goaltender.

Jagr is a Hall of Famer. Jagr is 9th all time in NHL scoring. Jagr is a beast. The Flyers are like 6-2-2 because of two people: Jagr and Giroux. Don't tell me Hartnell should be included because I disagree, that guy has improved because of Jagr, period end of story. Have you ever heard a goalie say he has zero confidence and that he's "lost in the woods"? Bryzgalov seriously needs to pull his shit together and start earning that ridiculous contract he was given.

To the Canucks and Habs fans I say HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That is all.

Agreed on that xD and Bryzgalov will be fine. Its still early in the season so just give him time, he rebounded a little last night so just give him time. Even if he does terrible I won't blame him too much because the defense is not that great so far this year honestly. We got our offense, but not much defense.

I also like to add that Edmonton has surprised me this year (despite D issues). I was expecting a pile of shit like the Jacksonville Jaguars but instead Edmonton dramatically improved their game offensively. So Oilers do deserve some attention on that.

Capitals are fairly good but I think a little overrated honestly, good offense and goaltending but not amazing.

Jonathan Quick is possibly the best goaltender so far, he is an amazing goalie. The LA Kings have been fairly good so far but still need some sort of improvements but their goaltending is surely saving the day, thats for sure.

The appropriate penalty should be assessed in every case where an opposing player makes unnecessary contact with a goalkeeper. However, incidental contact, at the discretion of the Referee, will be permitted when the goalkeeper is in the act of playing

the puck outside his goal crease provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact.

Lucic got a penalty so that's good enough for me. The whole Buffalo team, however, should get suspended for not sticking up for their goalie. Bunch of pussies got scared of Lucic, Buffalo's true colours showed that night. Terrible teammates.

An American private equity firm interested in purchasing a majority stake in Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment has reached out to Wayne Gretzky to be part of their group. It was earlier reported this week that the Ontario Teacher's Pension Plan could potentially sell it's 79% share of MLSE to a U.S. based financial firm, Providence Equity Partners.

Two independent sources reported that Gretzky has been approached by multiple groups interested in purchasing the majority stakeholder of MLSE, owner of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the latest being the Providence group. Gretzky would not give any details on potential roles or which specific groups have targeted him. He has also been on the record as saying he was still unsure if and when he would return to the NHL.

Please tell me this is not true. Gretzky, my man, you were a great player but you are not the brightest coach/gm/president/yada yada.

With a quarter of the season almost done, it's time for an update:

The Minnesota-mother-fucking-Wild are in first place in the NHL. Holy shit balls! Scoring is kind of distributed evenly among the team as they have 5 players with 10+ pts such as Healtey, Koivu, Cullen, Setoguchi, and Bouchard. Let's not forget Backstrom and Harding who have been amazing in the net. Backstrom has a .934 sv% and Harding has a .944 sv% with 3 shutouts between them. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Pittsburgh has been a beast without Crosby and now with him back watch out. Their problems have always been injury, they never seem to have Crosby, Malkin and Staal playing at the the same time so we'll see what happens there. Crosby returning with 4 pts was not surprising and is probably a good morale boost for the squad.

Florida, seriously? Wow have they been silently climbing the standings or what? Right now I don't think anyone is questioning all that money they spent on average players in the offseason because Versteeg, Weiss, and Fleischmann have 20+ pts each. They're D is pitching in and helping the scoring too, both Campbell and Kulikov are at the top in scoring right now for defensemen in the NHL. It's too bad they get no one to watch them play in the sunshine state.

I gotta mention my boys in blue. I just enjoy watching the league's #1 and #2 scoring leaders play, I'm talking about Phil Kessel who has 30 pts with a league leading 16 goals and Joffrey Lupul who has 26 pts. Without Armie, Reims, Lombardi, Komi, and Grabo they are 5-5-1 in November with 3 games left this month. Aside from the Kessel trade that can be argued, Burke has stolen every trade he's made for the club:

• Beauchemin = Lupul + Gardiner
• Stajan + Mayers + Hagman + White = Phaneuf + Aulie + Sjostrom
• Lebda + Slaney = Franson + Lombardi
• 2nd round pick = Liles
• Kaberle = Colborne + 1st round pick + conditional pick

Yeah as a Vancouver fan I understand what it is like watching two of the leagues most elite offensive talents on one line.
