Sure, anytime, add me to your steam list (Rec. S. Peaker [1st MRB]), I normally play France, but I can always play Prussia or Great Britain, or Russia. I normally play with no unicorns, no fixed artillery and 3 artillery units max. And Waffen SS were a group of divisions, the driving forces behind the german army weren't the elite Panzegrenadier divisions with expensive tank brigades (though they did have their uses). What gave Germany it's victories was the good ole Panzer III-IV and the Wermacht infantryman.

The main german army had superb leadership with sturdy and reliable standard equipment, along with superb infantry. Waffen SS were elite and awesome, but so were the american paras and the marines or the british SAS. They still can't win the war on their own :P.

Very True, Very True. Also you can add me Killeraustur (my steam name) and we can set up a game and yes Panzer IV's were very deadly tanks high armor 88 mm gun... very deadly. along with tough wehrmacht Infantry. And don't forget about the SS Divisions also very good.

I'll add you when I get off work, right now I can't use steam and i'm on the work computer :(. And yeah, the SS divisions wreaked a bloody havoc on the eastern front. For me it's mind boggling to imagine the scale of that conflict, thousand of tanks engaged in battle, hundreds of thousand of men fighting for their dear lives and country in a single operation. The SS Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler was recognized as particularly deadly (the 1st Waffen SS division, the personal bodyguard of good ole Adolf).

It's Wermacht counterpart would be the Grossdeutshland Division or the Panzer Lehr which were both the equivalent of a Waffen SS division in eliteness.

A good American-Canadian counterpart would be the Devil's brigade, and the 101st airborne for the americans.

Brits had the Anzacs and the Gurkhas.

Russians had the tank guard divisions, and I wouldn't have wanted to tangle with the cossacks, partisans or otherwise.

The italians had the Ariete division.

The Japanese had no divisions that were considered elite in the sense we think about, but they were incredibly tough and their morale was all but impossible to break.

That about covers the major protagonists :D.

Very True, Very True. But WW II to me also look back in history like Napoleonic Era, Germany as France and and Italy As Italy back then. the thing was. When Germany is taking the U.S. Canada, China, USSR, and many small world nations and 2nd world countrys. and then again Japan Morale was deadly.... they were the devils... they wouldn't surrender and fought to the last. Especially on Islands they were due to be able to camouflage and not worry about being flanked or outmaneuver as much. and not to mention spider holes...
