Excuse for the Unban:

Asmaro banned me for a nearly unknown reason. I suspect it was because I said something to the effect of "it's sad people can't have a mature discussion about race, religion, politics in a game so heavily involved with those topics". I said this directly after someone ELSE used the N-word towards another player. Though I can see how it could be a touchy moment, I don't see why it warrants such a hasty trigger finger on banning someone trying to express a stance against that type of language. Especially considering I've been playing on this server exclusively for about 2 weeks now and was very close to joining the battalion.

I wasn't being racist, I was supporting an open dialogue. It's fine if 1st Marines is trying to be a silence server where people log on and log off. But if you are interested in creating a community that goes pass the simple 2 window of friendships then I don't see why I would be punished for talking in a mature way about a subject brought up by another member.

I was trying to reiterate the rules of racism to someone else and stop it.

We'll see what the sergeant has to say, although, from a look at the banlist, I see your ban in just 1 week and not permanent.

Thanks for trying to help, we really appreciate the support from our players, but it does get tough for our admins to pacify the situation when arguments (or counter-arguments) arise. There are times to offer opinions and when admins are dealing with the problem is probably the shakiest of times.

If the reason for banning is what you say it is (that is if the banning admin doesn't have anything to add), I will unban you tomorrow. Just remember to let the admins do their job, offer your opinion after the situation has been dealt with, that way we know you're not trying to aggravate things.

Syn, I asked you several times to drop the issue yet you continued to go on and on about race/religion. You were given a one week ban because I gave out 2 warnings prior to taking action (which also goes against what you term "a hasty trigger finger"). You needed to drop the issue because perpetuating the discussion would have likely got someone else on the topic, which would have inevitably led to a line being crossed again (we have seen this happen many times). You did not get a permaban, which is the typical prescription for carrying on a negative discussion of race. I would appreciate it if you could simply follow instructions next time instead of testing how far you could go.

The admins on this server need to chill the fuck out. I got banned again, for asking if this guy was lower middle class and had a learning disability. Geezus fucking Cristo, people want to have fun and joke around or smack themselves in the balls all day with a hammer?
