what is 420?

wondering exactly the same thing, i think we may be the innocent ones here...

420, 4:20, or 4/20 (pronounced four-twenty) refers to the consumption of cannabis and, by extension, a way to identify oneself with cannabis subculture. Observances based on the number include the time (4:20 pm) as well as the date April 20th.

If there are any police officers out there (mainly Hall) correct me if i am wrong.

The reason most people smoke pot on 4/20 is because the call in on American police radio is 4:20.

that is the popular mentality about it, if you get caught with weed in the states the cops call it in as a 4-20 so that is why it is so popular to do on this day.

That's... wrong. One of those so very affluent urban myths about the origin of it. The origin is actually from San Rafael, and the "Waldo" pot smokers. A 10-50 would be a call of someone under the influence of drugs.

But what do I know? And further, who gives two shits?

in generaly 10- 50 dose mean a crash, i have an ex dispatch who sites behind me at work and i just asked her, but as for 4-20 that means noting. the code for a pot smoker depends on the area, the police codes are not the same accross the country, they very in each district or state
