I think this has been discussed before a VERY long time ago, cant remember if it was in the 1st or in the 6th lol... But I cannot remember what we concluded with.

I think its a cool idea and would more than happy to help fund it. Although my colleagues would probably not know what the hell kind of t-shirt im wearing hehe..

I know this isn't the forum topic, but after reading zahls post I was wondering how the 1st was created. Did someone use to be in the 6th and left them to start the 1st? I also heard BAR use to be with the 6th? Is there already a forum with all this information, or could one be created?

Also interesting idea on the shirts. =D

I cannot say if theres already a topic that explains the origin of the 1st but the founders of the 1st used to be in the 6th (included myself) they left to create this unit due to drama etc.

Dont want to change the subject of this post to the creaton if this unit, want more information you can talk to me on steam.

lets stick to the topic hehe

I think we're more concerned with your pants, Zahl...

I think this is a great idea! Powerful tool for increasing donations!

Okay.

There are two ways of going about this.

The Easy Way.

The Hard Way.

The easy way, is by making commission on products you sell through a website called Spread Shirt (http://www.spreadshirt.co.uk/) or a similar company. These kind of sites are awesome because they pretty much do it for you, and you can have a whole ton of products with various different options and your own design included. It's a wonderful thing aswell as a company like spread shirt, are international, and that could solve a whole problem of shipping etc. The only real problem is less money will be made than if you do it the hard way, as i'm pretty sure the various products are supplied on demand.

The other option, is The hard way. This would work better in the long run, but would take a bit of effort to get of the ground. You'll need to have someone put up the capital to fund a run of a product, for example, a minimum order at a professional screenprinters I use is 50 t-shirts, per order. Otherwise you could work with local screen printers shop, and do a small order each time, but usually this isnt cost effective really. The you gotta think about shipping, storage and lots of other stuff, and it'd be quite a bit of work for someone to do.

Obviously these options are there if the CS were interested in running with the idea.

My own personal opinion is that I think it's a great idea, and I'd defo buy some and wear it with pride!

This depends heavily upon the design of the shirts.

Legal reasons are to be taken into account here.

This is something that I completely forgot.

I did a bit of digging, and this is what I found:

http://www.avvo.com/legal-answers/are-mili...tra-285603.html

Looks like we would have to shoot a email or something asking for permission to use certain designs. I think however as we are a realism unit, where we base our structure on and respect the history of the 1st Marine Raiders, I think we have a good chance of gaining that. But there are no real test cases we can judge it on.

What we are isn't really taken into account if we do not follow the proper channels. It's easy enough to acquire what's called a "hobbyists license" for these types of things. We are aiming for the shirts to take on a commercial profit, so do not expect a special circumstance regarding our usage.

A hobbyists license is acquired through contacting appropriate persons through mail, and the correct forms, not so much through email.

As for the logistics behind it, what about using a site like Redbubble.com. If we have whatever member is running it make an account, we might be able to run our design through there, and members would purchase via that site. That way the shipping is handled by someone other than us, and they run the transactions via Paypal. I also think they do euro shipping. I've never done something like this via Redbubble, so I'm not sure what membership is like there. Just offering an avenue of approach

I am gonna guess a fish net t-shirt, maybe some assless leather chaps, you know, your usual attire?

Perhaps we would have to use logo's of our own construction with no direct mentino of the 1st MRB?

This is the most ideal construct. Any affiliation towards the marines may get dangerously close to incurring the wrath of the JAG. Now while I don't doubt the military has better things to do, I do know that it would be most beneficial to not incur such wrath. And as innocent as any intentions are, the law is the law.

I am the law.
