I'm revivin this thread yerrrrr

Well revive it you may! (I'm currently looking for displacement activities to avoid thinking about my exam tomorrow)

My name is Jacob Takel (usually Jake though, my brain gets confused beyond the first syllable)

I live in Cardiff, Wales in the UK

bDL834U.gif

living in Cardiff is pretty cool, we're within an hours drive of some of the best parts of Wales. we've got our bay which is really nice when it isn't raining. beautiful beaches close by which are really nice when it isn't raining, many castles and forts including one in the centre of cardiff (seen here: http://www.cardiffcastle.com/content.asp?n..._directory_id=1 and here: http://www.cardiffcastle.com/content.asp?n..._directory_id=1 ) they're also really nice when it isn't raining.

going north from cardiff you get to brecon, a cool town surrounded by mountains (the brecon beacons). Interesting things about this area - it covers 519 square miles, there are over 20 hill forts in the area, a few burial mounds and many standing stones that date back to the neothilic bit of history. depending on what your doing there, it might be better for it to be raining than not. UK Special Forces (SAS, SBS etc) and some of the top units in the military hold part of their selection courses in this area, this includes the 'Fan Dance', a 24k march up and down and up and down the tallest mountain in this area (Pen y Fan, pretty much literally meaning 'head of here' or 'top of this place' or 'here's the top' depending on who you ask. Welsh can be such an original language, i know). There is more around, including sand dunes and stuff, but you're probably better off visiting the area to see it

On to me, I'm an 18 year old fella with long hair. I'm currently retaking my AS levels year with the hope of passing them this time and maybe go to Uni (although it's so expensive now, i'm not sure i really want to). I work part time and volunteer another section of time at my local community centre where i help run a music-based youth club on sundays afternoons and organise gigs and an annual festival. website for this is: http://www.underconstruction.org.uk/. through this i have been able to learn sound engineering and lighting tech skills that i have gone on to earn money doing in some places. I play two instruments properly, piano and drums, and i'm learning to play a few others (melodeon, guitar, northumbrian pipes). I like a lot of music, but i mainly listen to punk, rock, ska, reggae/dub, dubstep, big beat and folk.

I am in three bands and play drums in all of them.

Breakdown Face - A semi-satirical shitcore punk band i was asked to join last year when their drummer decided to focus on his real band. we have our own entry on urban dictionary that wasn't created by us, and the guy who plays daryl dixon in the walking dead has a copy of our album, schoolboy error.

This is what we sound like:

and before you ask, yes. our lead 'singer' is always like that, even when not on stage

and now for something completely different, this is one of the other bands i'm in. this time it's folk and it's actually my parents band! (but i get proper paid for this because we play weddings and stuff, so nyah):

this dance by the way, is the competition dance used in the urdd eisteddfod (a welsh culture youth festival) for the primary school aged children (as in, aged between 7-10) strangely, the children dance it better than these adults. the speed up is on purpose, for teh lulz.

Finally, my main band: The Black Bloc (we were called disciple for some reason when we played this gig)

The first song of the set we played:

The last song of the set we played:

I like copious amounts of alcohol, mountain/trail biking, parkour and playing video games. I've been in the unit over 2 years now, it's one of the best things i've done thanks to you lot!

When i grow up i want to travel the world, preferably playing music or doing something else i love. If i fuck up my AS levels again, i'm running away to join the army.

and i'm single (don't go for men though, sorry mottola....)

TL;DR - you are one lazy motherfucker, i've probably thrown away a good grade to do this, the least you can do is read it!

Well why not.

My name is Donatello Arevicci, I'm 16 years old and I live in Virginia, born and raised in Fort Belvoir, moved when my dad retired. I'm a United States Naval Academy hopeful who doesn't know what he wants to do in life, other than fight. I'm a mixed martial artist, I mainly train in Judo and Kickboxing although I am a decent wrestler, but not good enough for a scholarship though. I hope to get my Black Belt in Judo by the time I'm 18 and will also be chasing a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. If you haven't noticed yet by my name, I am Italian. I'm huge into science fiction, especially Star Wars. If there is anything other than MMA that is my passion, It'd have to be Star Wars.

Now onto DODs. I joined the unit awhile ago, after returning to the gaming scene (on PC) and getting on a game I played when I was young, and I love it. You guys are great and I think I'll be here for quite some time.

Haha Wells... You like pizza Arevicci? :P

Just to keep this thing going:

I'm a 21 year old man from Missouri who's currently living in London, on an internship with CNBC. I'm heading back to the states in two weeks though, and I'm going to finish up my bachelor's in Journalism over the summer, along with a bachelor's in Russian. I'm a musician, and I'm going to record my songs at a local studio over the summer then hopefully start touring around Missouri playing music. If the music thing doesn't pan out after a year I'll probably face reality and get a real job as a local news producer, which is what I'm trained in. I love soccer, Peru (I'm Peruvian) and right now I really want some taco bell.

I started playing the original Day of Defeat on my dad's old computer when I was in high school, then I picked up DoD:S in my senior year or so. I had to quit playing, because I needed a macbook for school and couldn't play my games until steam came to OSX. I joined the unit in January of 2012, and had 5 great months before resigning. Now I'm in BAR, which I really enjoy, because I love the community that's formed around the 1st MRB. My real (sur)name is Martinez, which a lot of people who've been in the unit for longer than 4 months call me anyway. The giraffe thing is from a realism when me and some other guys called our team "team giraffe," but it's also because I'm a giraffe.

I have never come across a gaming group quite like this one; you all should be damn proud of what you're achieved here, for I am damn proud to be given the opportunity to join you.

So true Brown! You summed it all up right there!

I was born and raised in southern California and started attending college three years ago for a forestry degree. I changed my major halfway through to environmental science and moved up here to Eugene, Oregon last year in order to continue my education. Unfortunately, absolutely none of my credits transferred out of state. So, right now I'm going to a local community college to catch up and I plan on transferring to University of Oregon. I work at home with my uncle building cabins and helping out around the farm. I live about 30 minutes outside of town, combined with an introverted personality, it's hard for me to leave the house. So, I naturally attract to the computer and play games on my off time.

I've been playing DOD/:S on and off for about 5 years or so. I joined the unit August of last year and have enjoyed every minute of it.

Thats me. I joined a Motorcycle Club about a year and a half ago now. I just graduated college after 6 years of Navy service and currently work at Harley-Davidson here in Richmond, VA. I had to cut my hair for a ton of interviews, but I still got the beard.

Born and raised in Vancouver B.C. currently working my way through school, everyone in my family was born in Poland except for me making me first generation Canadian. On the weekends I take long walks on the beach and play DnD with a couple friends, and then sometimes play video games.

I'm Ben Armstrong, I'm 18 going on 19 years old within the next month and I'm currently attending McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. I live in Burlington right next to Hamilton, so I commute, and in terms of studies I am enrolled in the Humanities Faculty, and plan to go into a program with an Honors Major in History. I am also taking courses in Classics, Anthropology, Philosophy, and Political Science and plan to minor in two of them. I don't know what I want to be yet, but getting more education cannot hurt my chances, and I haven't stopped worked at my job as a Prepared Foods Clerk at the nearby Grocery Store Chain, Longos.

I read a lot of books, watch a lot of movies, and play a lot of games. I've written a couple incomplete stories just for the heck of it, and I hope to learn Gaelic and become a Pagan at some point in time. Two of the places I want to see most are Scotland and Ireland since both places are where my ancestry hails from. I like most music except for certain popular brands, screamo, and almost all rap. My favourite literary genres are Fantasy, Dystopia, Science Fiction, and History.

I was somewhat of a loner in public school and high school, not having more than a handful of close friends. I found that I didn't need the company of others to enjoy myself, partially thanks to my mild ADD which just lets me drift off thinking about things. Not that I have no friends, I just didn't feel interested in gaining a large group of friends in public school.

As for DoD, I've had it for several years now, but it wasn't until the last couple of years when I stumbled upon the 1stMRB server and used it as my primary gaming server. Then less than a year ago I decided to apply and now I'm a Corporal within the unit. I like this realism unit for its fusion of professionalism while still being a fun unit to be in, and I've always enjoyed how the realisms are run.

guess i'll try this out.

I'm Richard Allen, or Kyle, or Big K, or Snaaaaake(last one is mainly online persona). Born and raised in West "By God" Virginia. 22 going on 23 in September. Mainly A loner in school, just never felt satisfied chilling with groups. Yet for some odd reason I was known by many. Spent most of my free time either playing games or doing community theatre. My mom is on the board for our community theatre since I was born and has acted, directed, just about everything. So naturally just hung around there for most of my childhood. mainly did tech work till late middleschool/early highschool we started a youth theatre group cause our school quit having theatre classes when I got to highschool. so I dipped my hand in acting once or twice. Tried going to college but got kicked out 1st year and after that my dad had a string of bad luck with his health so I've been staying home taking care of him. but he's better now so trying to get my life back on track. My DoD history has been way back since it started. also played CS when my brother wasn't playing and always got bitched at for ruining his server rank lol. This is the first unit for DoDS i've ever been on. and thats my story and i'm sticking to it.
