Is this going to be as good as Skyrim, but multiplayer?

We can only hope. Otherwise, it's just yet another fantasy MMO in a market they've glutted.

So, lets hope!

I have come to the decision that I shall be playing as an Aielman. Tall red/blonde hair, only kills with their faces veiled and will not ever touch a sword or they have dishonored themselves and have toh to all other Aiel. Who's with me? Their is much ji in this path and we shall dance the spears until the last sunset. This is the way of the algai'd'siswai, failure or defeat is met, only the da'shain fear it. Death comes to us all.

Now bear in mind this wonderful nerdgasm above has nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls lore directly and in fact is pulled from the Wheel of Time. The Aiel culturally most closely relate to the Redguard though they are pale and fair-haired with light eyes. The homeland of the aiel was a massive ass desert of doom so it fit's with the alik'r desert. I seek brothers and sisters with which to dance the Spear with, who is with me?

Yeah! I got invited for this weekend's Beta Test too!

Let me know what character name that you are gonna choose so that if you want to team up and test stuff, we can do that. I should be Vikkturr. I will be an Argonian.

I was not terribly impressed with the beta. The servers were shit for most of it, always randomly dropping me out of the game. I realize they had a heavy load, but they know just how many beta keys they sent out, and they've done stress test betas before. Still, I was interested enough to keep attempting connection and play. Character creation was strangely reminiscent of Age of Conan although there were plenty of differences. I couldn't get a feel for the combat. It's supposed to be more like the Elder Scrolls combat from the single-player RPGs, but it was odd and clunky feeling. This could be refined by the time the game is ready for release. Same with the graphics I assume. I wasn't terribly impressed by those either, the art style didn't bother me, it's just that they didn't seem to embrace it. I did like the general starter questing, it was never "kill 5 oogleboogles and bring me their stirgetburrs." There was always a defined objective behind each mission, and that was generally refreshing.

Overall, I'd rate it at a 6.5/10. Problems are definitely there, but it's entertaining enough for me that I'll come back for at least another round. That's a beta scale coincidentally, I'm not comparing it to finished product.

I had an invite for the weekend but passed it up since the last Beta experience was horrible. All I was able to do was create a character and move about 10 feet. I got moving stuff to do the next 2 days anyways.
