So I learned a great deal about some of you in my other post here (and if you never responded, go do so now dammit), and perused the pinned pictures post and discovered you are all gorgeous individuals (except 1stSgt Brown, fuck you Brown); next logical step = pets! Post 'em if you got 'em! (Plus, this gives me an opportunity to show off my own )

I do a lot of volunteer work for the Serpatarium here in NC (like a zoo for reptiles; I go out on hunts for rare ones (called herping), and respond to calls when someone has an intruder in their home or a dangerous one in their yard), and someone left this gigantic Savannah Monitor in a box outside PetCo. They didn't have any room available at the Serpatarium so I offered to provide shelter until they do. She is a sweetie, probably 7 or 8 years old, named Sasha.

And she's very photogenic!

If you've been to my profile here, you've seen my latest critter Dash, a corn snake, that a nasty ex-gf said she'd let loose if someone didn't take her off her hands; having been a pet its whole life, it'd never make a day in the wild, so of course I had to grab her.

This is (or I suppose was) my best friend for the past decade Pixie; 25lbs at her death (which was just 2.5 weeks ago *cry*)

I have a few more snakes (big ass Red-tailed boa, probably 25yrs old, 8' long, and a gorgeous Emerald Tree boa that I WILL have a picture of soon, just got her today), but no pictures of them at the moment.

My dog Sadie. I got bored during a realism and started throwing some clothes on her, to see if she'd move. She didn't.

She's old (12ish) and lazy and has an allergy so she sneezes a lot. I've had her since I was 10, and I'm gonna miss her so much when she goes.

I have 2 dogs, 1 cat and a 75g reef tank. The pekingese (Teddy) is the grumpy old bastard of the group he will be 14 this year, the Yorkie (Ellie) is the pup and is 2 1/2 and the kitty (Luna) just turned 2.

They're Back!

LOVE hermit crabs! I do not know why but I find them so fascinating to watch, and amazed by their personalities.

Have you decided not to get any other pets for a while? I'm still struggling with my cat's death, it was not pleasant (is it ever?) or quick, and while I think it is certainly worth the pain for the years of love, I am very hesitant about going through it again. Socks had some amazing color though

Yeah, I don't think my parents feel like getting a new pet, my dad hated cleaning up after them. Besides him, I did all the cleaning and walking and with me away at college, I really doubt my brothers would step up and care for another pet. I may get one (probably a dog) once I get settled in my own place after college.

We do have a fish though, a Japanese fighting fish Alpha, it seems to be enough for now.
