Gave my resignation with 2 weeks notice, they let me go immediately.

So far every employee I know who has found out has said, WTF they are losing the wrong person.

Top 5% of all Service Advisors in Canada for GM, and the management really couldnt care, they'd rather lose me and keep an abusive, usless does not know their job after 5 years of employement person..... lol their loss.

Not even 3 hours late, after businesss hour and mentioning it on Facebook that I'm unemployed, I have an interview set up for Friday and 2 other companies emailing me asking for my resume asap. Not bad considering I'm in the west and a couple of them are in the east, which means I must have some type of demand going lol.

Its amazing how much stress I've been carrying on my shoulders and mind recently due to the bad staff members, I'll miss the good ones, but when I got home my shoulder I had surgery on in June felt better then ever, my semi perma headache is gone, even though I'm technically unemployed till I find something else, I'm not worried. No stress effects, its a good feeling.

So, all I got to say, is my pants are coming off (thats right Lt.Col. Parker! I'm going commando full bore!!!) and I'm going to play some stress free DoD:S!

Congratulations. You even remembered the ever so important step of finding a replacment job. Most people forget.

Thanks I have not yet secured one, only being unemployed for 4 hours so far lol, but with my industry awards, and my recommendations I have I shouldnt be on the market long.

damn I wish there was demand for me on the market like that. I'm just a supervisor on the floor of a call center (and keep in mind that supervisor is simply my title; in the eyes of my employers i am just another agent who happens not to be on the phones); What do you do that you go peoples tryna recruit you cross country and shit

Well the job I just left I was Senior Service adviser/tower operator/warranty admin/shop Forman for a GM dealership.

But before that and hopefully soon again, I was a Project Coordinator for a national construction/retail services company. Doing big box store openings and renovations. Where I ran projects ranging from a couple thousand to a couple million of dollars in sales coast to coast.

The position I just interviewed for is a Project Management position, where I'd be in charge of the Prairie provinces here in Canada.

Your now looking at the newest Project Manager with Apollo Retail Services in Canada :D as

Accepted their offer today, and start Tuesday. I'll be primarily responsibel for projects in Mantiboa, Saskatchewan and Alberta, although I will help with other provinces/states as required. Sounds like if I can learn spanish in 5 days I'd be sent to Mexico.... lol

Going to be heading to Toronto for my first couple of projects to oversee and for training with other current Project Managers to get up to speed with their current clients.

Dude... respect.

Sometimes you've just gotta quit your job; If you're feeling that you don't want to do what you're doing, and you're thinking of doing

something else you prefer, I say you should go for it. It's better to regret something you HAVE done than something you haven't.

Just over a year ago, I was doing software development for a business-to-business motor insurance service company. The job was

alright: the people were great, the money was great, I had a 20 minute commute. When I quit everyone thought I was a bit mad

(especially with the current economic climate). But I just wanted to make games. Now I'm doing exactly that, and it's the best choice

I've ever made. I'm earning less money, and I have an hours commute, but it's better because I'm doing something I much prefer

doing, and I feel like I'm working with people who appreciate my input much more.

Basically, if you're not feeling happy about your job, and you can afford to not earn money for a while, you should always leave and

find something where you feel more comfortable. If you hate your job, it is madness to keep doing it, hoping that it will get better

in a few weeks... in my experience, it just gradually gets worse. We only have one life to enjoy, so if at all possible, we shouldn't be

working on something we don't enjoy. It sounds like you didn't feel valued, despite being a conscientious employee. That can be an

incredibly demoralizing experience: you put in the hours to do a good job, yet feel undermined by a management structure which

somehow makes your input irrelevant.

...

So anyway, congratulations on your new position... it seems like your choice has paid off, big time! That's a fast turn-around!

I really hope it works out for you. I love that you have made a bold decision to make a change, and it has worked out well.

You have made your own luck, by identifying a problem, taking action, and ending up with a solution.

Lovely!

I just realised, there is days in my new job, that I will not even have to put on pants to go to work :P

man talk about the dream job. Now if only I had a couple Swedish Massage girls here as well, then it would be the perfect dream job.
