Simple question, what would you bring to a gun fight?

- It has to be a firearm.

- It has to be real (no blasters Magoo)

- It has to be hand held and ideal (i.e. no tanks or something ridiculous like that)

Basically, answer the question and try not to be a wise guy <_<

I would bring a Remington 700 SPS Tactical Rifle a.) because it's awesome and b.) because I own one and feel pretty comfortable with it.

Mk_47_Striker_40_automatic_grenade_launc

The Mk 19 is a belt fed, blowback operated, air cooled, crew served, fully automatic weapon that is designed not to cook off. It fires 40 mm grenades at a cyclic rate of 325 to 375 rounds per minute, giving a practical rate of fire of 60 rounds per minute (rapid) and 40 rounds per minute (sustained). The weapon operates on the blowback principle, which uses the chamber pressure from each fired round to load and re-cock the weapon. The Mk 19 is able to launch its grenade at a maximum distance of 2,212 meters, though its effective range for a point target is about 1,500 meters, since the large rear leaf sight is only graduated to 1,500 meters. The nearest safe distance to launch the grenade is 310 meters in training and 75 meters in combat. Though the Mk 19 has a flash suppressor, it serves only to save the eyesight of its operator; it does not conceal the weapon's position. For night operation, an AN/TVS-5 night vision sight can be fitted.

And yes there is a sling option which technically then makes it a hand held unit :)

Taurus Raging Judge carrying a .410 winchester load. Revolvers > Semi Auto. Why? They don't jam.

If I had to go with a different caliber though it would have to be 10mm. 10mm ascertains the highest muzzle velocity, which equivalates to the most stopping power.

A little modifying and fabrication and I don't think a slide rail is out of the question either.

Well whats the most common bullet found? I would go with that gun

Depends on where the treasure map's X is. If the mark is on your local walmart I'd say .22. If the mark sends you to Cabelas I'd say 30-06. And if it sends you to Hoffmans guns I'd say 9mm - 7.62.

But then again, I buy bullets instead of finding them.

As a side arm i'll take a pair of those (No, not because I want to dual wield, because I'm lazy and don't want to reload in a firefight). .45 for the win!

As my main weapon, i'll have one of those. Built in rangefinder? Sign me up. I'd rather be a click away and checking my match grade ammo rather than in the thick of things, thank you very much :D

There really wasn't enough detail in the question to give a proper answer.... 1v1? short range? long range? is there a chance anybody has body armor on? 1v1 short range, maybe a full auto shotgun... walk 10 paces, turn and draw? maybe a glock 20... counter-sniping... i suppose it really comes down to the skill of the shooter more than the rifle.
