Name: A. Arsenault

Rank: SSgt.

Type of issue: Not sure

Brief Description of Issue:

I want to install steam on my roomate's PS3 to use Big picture and to play some of my games on his PS3 but it seems that I have no other choice but to buy Portal 2. Which I don't want to do. When trying to only install Steam, it tells me to connect the memory space where it is gonna be saved, but everything is already plugged in.

From what I've read on steam and other forums, is that Portal2 for the PS3 has a digital copy code for the PC, and through your PSN you can link to your steam account so that your gave achievements and progress are saved via cloud to both versions.

So its basically game specific, and only if the PS3 version has the digital PC copy code with it.

Here's a link that helps a little bit.

"PlayStation 3

At E3 2010, Newell announced that Steamworks would arrive on the PlayStation 3 with Portal 2. It will provide automatic updates, community support, downloadable content and other unannounced features.[95] Portal 2's PlayStation 3 release saw Steamworks make its debut on consoles. Several features were offered including cross-platform play and instant messaging, Steam Cloud for saved games, and the ability for PS3 owners to download Portal 2 from Steam (Windows and Mac) at no extra cost.[4] Valve's Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will also support Steamworks and cross-platform features on the PlayStation 3, including using keyboard and mouse controls as an alternative to the gamepad.[96] Valve said they "hope to expand upon this foundation with more Steam features and functionality in DLC and future content releases".
