Leafs > Habs. Arsenault you watch as much hockey as Johnson does in Africa so I really pay no attention to any comments you make on the sport. Moving on.

Sooo the Flames put in an offer sheet for Ryan O'Reilly for 2 yrs/10 mil. The Avs matched it and signed the kid for too much money. Here's the interesting part the Avs did the Flames a favor, the Flames could have paid a higher price than draft picks if the Avs didn't match the offer for O'Reilly. Due to the fact that O'Reilly, who was unsigned until Thursday night, played for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL on Jan. 21 and Jan. 23 after the start of the NHL season on Jan. 19, O'Reilly would have had to clear waivers to join the Flames! That would have meant anyone ahead of Colorado on the waiver priority list would have been able to take O'Reilly for free!

Hehe, you read that Puck Daddy article as well I see. :) But you meant the Flames, not Colorado, for the waiver priority right?

WHEN, not if, Cgy would have lost that RO to a waiver AND all those draft picks... HAHAHA that would have been a glorious

(and some GM would probably have lost their job on the spot for that that gaff)

You gotta figure something's going on in Edmonton. 3 consecutive 1st overall picks (plus a bonafide stud 1st rounder), a potential top 5 D signing during the offseason and they're still out of playoff contention.

Is it the coaching?

Is it Sit-On-My-Thumballini?

Is it the 3 1st overall picks + 1st round stud (eberle)?

Is it the lack of depth from plethora of overpaid veterans?

Is it the goaltending?

Is it the porous defense?

Also, this might be the year that all 3 canadian teams in the East make the playoffs since 2003-2004. Parker, I stand corrected, I do think that TO has a more than fair chance to make it to the show this year. And if it wasn't for the ridiculous situation in ottawa (I don't think that I've seen a team lose their top 3 players to long-term injuries they the sens have this year) the sens could have been in 1st place in the entire conference.

The toughest div in all of hockey this year (if it weren't for div leader asterix, the NE would have 4 teams in the top 5 of the eastern conference!). DAYYYUM!

Its because they have a roster full of stars that are used to doing everything themselves. Their entire 1st line is shoot first shoot second maybe pass third.

Caps beat calgary...big woop. Theyve been sucking lately and killing my fantasy team. I'm not sure if they can handle boston or if boston has the energy from being kicked around by the pens to face washington. Its dead even to me.

As for the realignment i fuckin LOOOOVE IT! Now i can finally go to some winnipeg jets games when they come and play the kings down here in LA. Winnipeg is gonna kick some ass in the west now. It used to be to where the West was a stronger division but that is definitely not the case this year and most likely next year.
