So i want to save up and get some new headlights for my 2004 Honda Accord EX-L V6.

I've been looking at Halo lights, the Black Angel Projector lights are soooo clean looking, but i think just standard HIDs look great as well. Trying to get some opinion on these.

What do yall think? Which are brighter/better looking/more cost effective?

HIDs just replace your STOCK halogen.

Halos are a ring of light(CCFL or LED) that just give the car a unique look and will provide NOTHING for a driving lamp.

found this on a car driver forum, is this accurate?

This is what i want my car to be like, Halo's around HID lights. How easy is this/is it possible on my 04 Accord?

It looks like the problem you're going to run into is getting big halos. The shape of your headlamps seems to limit the size of a round opening to a fair bit smaller than the ones in that picture.

None of these seem to have the look of those.

This seems to be the look you're going to end up with.

Well im going to be brutally honest. so ignore this if you want to but in my opinion halo projectors only look good on fairly modern vehicles. By that i mean around 04 and up generally so you should be all set. But if you have a late 90's honda please dont bother it looks aweful. If your car is a bit on the old side go with the halogen bulbs they work great and look good aswell. If your really into the idea of changing the look of your headlights just get something basic like black-housed lights. not many cars pull off the halo look with out just looking thike a typical ricer piece of shit. Again this is all my opinion. Also for the love of all things holy stay away from chrome trim peices and "audi" led strips. There is a good reason the designer team didnt put them on your car in the factory.

Dont get me wrong im all for changing up the look of a vehicle to make it your own im just picky. :)

As for how easy is it, are you talking custom making your headlights or just buying a set? buying a set is just disassemble the grille usually and unbolt the OE lamps and put the new ones in and plug them up. Making a set is a whole lot of work that i wouldnt even touch.

btw you're comparing a Charger to an accord for headlights. Such a different result is going to be achieved. Its not going to get the angry fire breathing dragon look the muscle car is going to have.

V-Tec kicked in yo.

I am personally for a clean car. Nothing to fancy. I'd just go for some brighter headlights, and if I ever own a BMW, I'd definitely go for Halo lights, BMWs and Halo lights belong together.

Now, here's for your comparison I guess...

thanks for the input jabs. what im thinking about doing is buying a halo projector assembly and then installing HID bulbs whenever i get around to having that cash on hand.

so id have just halos for awhile and then id eventually install the HIDs

however....

After some research, im find alot of people complaining that aftermarket halos tend to be shitty quality, anyone used them before and found this to be true?

Also, they keep saying halos are crappy for lighting, and the best way to go is retrofitting (but that is either expensive to have someone do for you or a shitton of work) HIDs.

Any of yall used HID conversion kits? How do they work and what was your results?

I think im leaning towards buying an HID conversion kit, i really just want crisp, brighter lights for my accord. i love the look of halos but i dont wanna spend my money on something thats gonna fall apart or burn out in 8 months, or more so be too complicated to put together to get the end result im looking for.

As far as I know HID's are just a bulb. It should be remove the OE and replace the new. Usually there is some sort or a clip you pull off and then to take the bulb out many times its another clip or twist and pull. Its a simple job. If the product doesnt come with directions, im sure theres a forum out there that someone has done it before and made a step by step to do it.

HID's aren't just a bulb. you also need the ballists. the newer style of HID's plug into your existing wire harness, the old style had to have a power (normally your battery). so get the new style. i would personally get projectors and then put HID's in after. make sure you get the right bulb for your setup. you can get projecters with angel eyes and they can be wired into your parking lights. (i have my eclipse gt and both my dsm's setup this way) HID bulbs also come in different colors. you can look the charts up online. i prefer 8000k not too blue and not too white.

this is what i was originally thinking. so i would buy all new projector halo headlights and then buy an HID kit that includes the ballasts etc?

how easy is it to find projector headlights that are compatible with HIDs? and what might their cost be?

As for Lafy's post. they really don't mess with you if there not crazy colors, like really blue or purple. Thats not saying they won't, but you take a chance for what you want to do. like tinting windows.

As for Zorbanos HID's are for projectors, so just about every projector housings you get can be HID. it's not hard. just make sure you have the right bulb. for example: mine are H1 bulbs. so i take out my stock H1 bulbs in my projector housing and replace them with the new HID H1 bulb's and connect the ballist to the wire harness and mount the ballist somewhere. if you have different bulbs for high and low beams. you will need another set of HID's for those bulbs. I bought my projectors for about $135 for the set and as for HID kits, you can find them for as low as $30-$50. just do your research.
