Resolved - Must be a problem with my configs...

When it comes to my configs, I'm retarded! Ok, I'm retarded anyway.

Being forced to use my rifle all the time I noticed that when I shoot at someone and my crosshairs are on them, I MISS! But when I take a quick pop shot at them and my crosshair clearly isn't on someone but very close, I hit them.

What the hell???

Ok, granted, my crosshair is a little red dot which means I can't sit there and wait for the traditional factory crosshair to close in on my target to shoot. But still, something must be off in my config? I used to be pretty good with the rifle in 1.3. It can't be that different from that version of the game to this can it? It's just getting frustrating that I can get as many kills I guess.

Any idea what I should look at in my configs and then I can go from there with more practice on the rifle to get better than I clearly am now? lol

This may sound like a sarcastic question to my rifle ability but I seriously think it has something to do with my config. lol

I never had to take notice to it since I never concentrated on the rifle before.

ANY help with this would be greatly appreciated!

Well this is most likely due to your ping (how many ms it takes for the server to respond to what you are doing).

I have around 100-150 ping in the pub an up to 200 in the private and sometimes when I die, like when I try to rush in to a room for me I look safe but I have already been killed and that I notice when the killcam comes up and I am on the other side of the dorr.

So I don't think it is something wrong with your configs it is just other people have higher or lower ping than you, so all you need is a littlebit of luck and training. Just remember that if you miss it is not due to that you have a bad aim or that they are cheating it is just the ping most likely.

Are you currently using and autoexec.cfg or a custom config file of some form or are you just running a stock config? If so please post back with a link to it/copy and paste it into a quote box.

Ok. So, if he is having registry issues, why don't we start with the basics?

Enter the game.

Open console.

Type: net_graph 1

Hit enter.

Report back the numbers that show in the net graph. A screenshot is probably easiest.

My ping in game is around 25. Yes I use an autoexec. A friend gave it to me since I have no clue.
