So we've all seen some pretty amazing fuck-ups by General Managers in our lifetimes... What do you think the absolute WORST trade your team made was?

Try to keep the trades recent, we all know the Babe Ruth story already.

Being a Dodgers fan, I've seen some SERIOUSLY shit trades go down in Chavez Ravine. We're talking XBOX trades... Here are just a few, with my all-time WORST in bold:

-Pedro Martínez was traded to the Montreal Expos for Delino DeShields...

-Mike Piazza and Todd Zeile were traded to the Florida Marlins for Gary Sheffield, Charles Johnson, Bobby Bonilla, Manuel Barrios, and Jim Eisenreich...

-Paul Konerko and Dennis Reyes were traded to the Chicago White Sox for Jeff Shaw...

Hard to beat those three, but let's see what you got!

Giants trading Francisco Liriano, Joe Nathan, and Boof Bosner to the Twins for AJ Pierzynski in November of 2003. I loved Nathan as a reliever... And then he becomes a 5x All-Star with MN. AJ is with us for a year and then jumps ship for the White Sox and wins a ring.

Blue Jays:

- Mike Napoli to Texas for Frank Francisco. Francisco started the season on the DL and finished with 17 saves, four blown saves and a 1-4 record after leaving for free agency.

- John Olerud to Mets for Robert Person. As a SP, Person had a 5-10 record, a 5.61 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP.

- David Cone to NYY for Marty Janzen. Janzen was a pitcher and a AAA lifer.

- David Wells to CWS for Mike Sirotka. Sirotka pitched a little, but had to have career ending shoulder surgery following the trade.

Damn, those Jays trades are pretty fucked... Cone for Janzen looks like the real kick in the pants. I wonder what trades will be mentioned over the next 10-20 years? Anyone notice some seriously lopsided trades over the last few seasons? Depending on how the prospects turn out, the Blue Jays trade-raping Miami this offseason is the one that stands out the most for me. Miami is the only team who can afford to "wait for talent", but I guarantee if that deal was made with ANY other club, that club would be asking for MLB-ready talent in return for guys like Reyes, Buerhle, and Johnson. That's just not a trade you make, unless you're the dumbshit Marlins...

December 26, 1919.

The day the Curse began.

True dat! For Ruth the Red Sox got $125,000 ($1,450,166.11 million in current dollar terms) in cash and three $25,000 ($290,000 in current dollar terms) notes payable every year at 6 percent interest. And they used the money to fund a play...

Amatuers....

The Seattle Mariner's have had abominable trades since... forever.

Randy Winn to San Francisco for Jesse Foppert and Yorvit Torrealba - Randy Winn was a superior outfield defender, switch-hitting speedster that had some great years in SF.

Asdrubal Cabrera to Cleveland for Eduardo Perez - Eduardo who? And Cabrera is an elite defender with good AB's.

Carlos Guillen to Detroit for Ramon Santiago and Juan Gonzalez - Guillen went on to have the most productive years of his career. And this isn't THE Juan Gonzalez, this is a crappy minor leaguer.

Shin-Soo Choo and Shawn Nottingham to Cleveland for Ben Broussard - Shin-Soo Choo.... why!!??! He was a 5-tool player when we traded him!

Jamie Moyer to Philadelphia for Andrew Barb and Andy Baldwin - I will always love Jamie Moyer. He pitched till he was... what.. 50?

Jose Cruz, Jr. to Toronto for Paul Spoljaric and Mike Timlin - Two relievers for a solid corner outfielder. Timlin went on to be good.... for the Red Sox.

Brian Fuentes, Denny Stark, and Jose Paniagua to Colorado for Jeff Cirillo - Cirillo was one of the worst disappointments ever.

Rafael Soriano to Atlanta for Horacio Ramirez - Elite reliever for a dud of a left handed starter that even Atlanta couldn't fix. Makes sense.

Tino Martinez, Jeff Nelson, and Jim Mecir to New York Yankees for Sterling Hitchcock and Russ Davis - Two of the pillars of the Yankees dynasty. Yep, they were Mariners.

Adam Jones, George Sherrill, Chris Tillman, Kam Mickolio, and Tony Butler to Baltimore for Erik Bedard - Don't get me started. I would have been fine with Jones for Bedard. But all of them?!? Bill Bavasi, you are a motherfucker.

Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek to Boston for Heathcliff Slocumb - Two other pieces of the Red Sox dynasty years... for a terrible closer who had a shiny ERA.

Brandon Morrow to Toronto for Brandon League - Just shoot me now.

I loved Winn here in SF...seriously what a player. Fun to watch, and even got to see him rob a home run less than 20 feet from me!

JC Jr. also played here in SF and he killed us with that error in the 2003 NLDS on a friggin routine fly ball a few days before receiving his Gold Glove.. smh.

Also, glad to hear from you again Dillon! BCT 139 Graduates!

LOL and League fixed his mechanics and went on to dominate thanks to Dodger pitching coaches. I guess it helps having Sandy Koufax and Rick Honeycutt around, no big deal.

League was actually pretty good in Seattle. Top 5 closer for a year and a half. Then things sort of imploded. But closers are just overvalued. Good lord, a starter for a closer? A starter with Morrow's stuff who "just can't put it together?" Madness to trade him.

Hmm. I have to go look some more up but this is the most recent one that comes to mind.

Jesus Monetero to the Mariners for Michale Pineda.

Pineda has not even played for us yet. Jesus is one of the best hitters for Seattle.

That's like being the skinniest kid at fat camp.

It ended up being a poorer trade because of Pineda's torn labrum. No one knew it was there, but it sucks. That's why any time you trade for a younger pitcher, you risk injuries. The attrition rate on young pitchers is pretty atrocious. But yes, thank you for Montero. Too bad he won't stick at Catcher. But, had there not been an injury, it would probably be an unbalanced trade in favor of the Yankees.

Oh, and labrum surgery is bad..... Statistically, he will lose at least 3mph on his fastball. Bummer, because he was a 95mph fastballer.

I lol'd at that.

I'm sorry to say but other than Kyle Seager and Michael Saunders (because he's Canadian ;) ) Seattle has no batting. On the other hand, you've got King Felix so there's that.

Here's a little highlight vid I found of Pedro. Such a dominating pitcher.
