E3 so far has been the big reveals that some were waiting for for the console race. Are you getting one? Why or why not? Will you just disregard the consoles and stick to the glorious PC master race? Bring on the discussion!

In this corner, You have the Xbox One.

Pricing in at $499 US, the Xbox One comes equipped with an AMD 8 core APU (2 Quad-Core Jaguar modules), Blu-Ray disc player with advertised full 4K support, 8 GB DDR3 RAM, and a 500GB HD. Hosting a hefty basket of exclusive titles, such as Halo 5, Forza, Killer Instinct, Ryse: Son of Rome, and others to come especially thanks to an agreement signed with EA for numerous exclusives including some sports. The Xbox One will ship with a new Kinect, using a 1080p wide-angle camera. The Xbox One will not function without the Kinect sensor connected. However, all of the features can be turned off on the Kinect itself. Focusing heavily on media playback and Smart features, the Xbox One looks to be well equipped. Microsoft has moved from 15,000 servers supporting the Xbox 360 to 300,000 for their new console. Cloud storage will be a new additional feature, pending subscriptions. Between XBox SmartGlass and the ability to record your own gameplay and add commentary at will, the Xbox One is well equipped with loads of bells & whistles. An Internet connection will be required for extended use of the XBox One. Reports recommend a broadband connection of at least 1.5 mbps. You won't have to connect to the internet at all times, rather the console will work offline for a period of 24 hours on your home account. If you log into a friend's console, you may play for an hour before it needs an internet check-in. These restrictions include games which are single-player and have no online capabilities. Multiple accounts on the same box are able to share games, and up to ten people can be designated "family members". These family members will have access to the full library of their other family members, and up to one can play at the same time as the original owner. Used games can be bought and sold at participating retailers, dependent on each game publisher.

In the other corner, The PlayStation 4

Pricing in at $399 US, the PlayStation 4 comes with a Semi-custom 8-core AMD x86-64 CPU (integrated into APU), Blu-Ray disc player, 8 GB DDR5 RAM, BlueTooth support, and a 500 GB HD. Although the PS4 will be able to play 4K Blu-ray movies, it is not suspected to render games at 4K. Boasting some equally heavy exclusives, such as Final Fantasy, Infamous, Killzone, and Kingdom Hearts, the PS4 will be a powerful competitor. The PS4 can be used with a redesigned PlayStation Eye camera. The unit includes two 1280x800 cameras which allow for different modes of operation based on the applications. The system is not dependent on the camera to be functional, rather it is a separate accessory that can be purchased at will. With the use of a PlayStation Vita, Sony hopes to be able to send all games played on the console wirelessly to the Vita for Remote Play. Developers can add their own specific controls for use with the design. The PlayStation 4 will not require an internet connection for play, but Sony thinks that their new lineup of Smart features are too enticing to avoid. After redesigning their interface, the PS4 homescreen will be personalized for content from friends. It will be possible to multitask freely, such as opening a web browser while playing a game. The controller itself includes a SHARE button, allowing you to focus back through the last 15 minutes of gameplay and post a screenshot or video clip to social media or other PSN users. Sony is also introducing the elevated use of the PlayGo feature, which will allow a player to play a downloading game while it is being downloaded. There will be no change in how used games are handled from Sony.

In short,

XBox One - $500 US, XBox Live membership - $60 per year.

PS4 - $400 US, PS+ membership - $50 per year.

Whose side will you be on? Or will you join me in the Glorious PC Master Race?

Well I don't like the fact that we have to pay for the membership just to play the games online; however I think Sony destroyed Microsoft on this one. The PS4 has better games coming out, its cheaper, and you still get a lot for your money. Though I would say PC is the best but I like playing games on the big screen while sitting on a comfortable couch. Plus I don't care for the "internet check-ins" when I am playing on a friend's console. I like how Sony has been with its handling of games, its always plain and simple with it. In short, I will buy the PS4 unless the Xbox One has some more appealing games to me.

PS4....they did nearly everything microsoft did, but the opposite and microsoft will pay for it in the end.

So many great games coming out for console that i cant help but bet excited and get a PS4 ASAP.

Kingdom Hearts 3 was the kicker!

Star Wars battlefront 3

Destiny

Watch Dogs

Assassins Creed 4

Killzone Shadows Fall

Battlefield 4

Microsoft gave a huge finger to gamers and all Sony had to do was prove that their consoles was for gamers and they did so. It was an amazing conference. Last i remember being this excited for something was when i got a PS2. I had a freakin blast on that thing. Seeing KH3 being brought onto PS4 brings back so many fond memories of gaming. Plus the price is pretty good. Also, no paying to play games online! My jaw dropped when they were showing Destiny being played on PS4. It looked amazing.

I've skipped the latest generation of consoles, I still have my trusty PS2, but I might very well buy a PS4 at this rate. The price is reasonable, the features are simple and not overwhelming, there's no messy internet check ins like the Xbox One, and I can bring my games to my buddy's house to play. One question I do have though, will the PS+ membership be obligatory to use the online features?

Glorious PC Master Race, but if i had to choose, PS4.

I honestly think Microsoft shot themselves in the foot on this one and not with a pistol, i'm talking a mother fucking shotgun.

Kingdom hearts 3 and ff15 was both announced to be multiplatform.

but ill have all three consoles eventually but PC until then.

I wrote this before they announced the un-exclusivity of the titles. Which was about an hour ago as of this. I was going off of previous versions of Final Fantasy.

I would have thought Kingdom hearts and ff15 would've been Sony exclusives but it shocked me that it isn't.

I'm going to get a PS4, the games Sony has had behind them have always been awesome, and they've just proven that they can once again outdo Microsoft. Cheaper product, better deals on multiplayer, better handling by the looks of it, and what I think will be better games.

I'm waiting on

Infamous: Second Son

Watch Dogs

Dragon Age Inquisition (Hopefully EA doesn't fuck it up for Bioware like ME3)

The Witcher: The Wild Hunt (Finally they are selling to the Playstation crowd and not just Xbox exclusive and PC, but I'm contemplating getting a new PC for this goliath rather than switch it to a console and waste all my time spent on the other two)

Assassins Creed 4 (I'll eventually get, even though I'm not that hyped for it right now)

$400 though? That's cheaper than the PS3 was when it was first released if I remember correctly. I think it was $500 when it first came out.

PC, but if I buy a console, it would be PS4 over Xbox1. it's cheaper (you see that bullshit about xbox pricing? $500 for you guys, but like $670 for the EU/UK (so buying a US xbox would save me £109). I was pissed at this bullshit when they were selling games here at the same numerical price as the US (e.g $30 game would be £30 here) but that's a whole load of fuckery right there. that, and the games look like they're just better (although i'd normally buy a pc version over PS4 any day of the week)

I wonder who out of the retailers will have the best preorder offers. I mean what will be the difference when it comes to preordering from amazon, best buy, or gamestop? I'm already considering preordering it, but not sure from where. Maybe they will have extra goodies to convince people to preorder from them.

Buy both?

both? who are you? bill gates?

Who are you, Oliver Twist?

what so just because the notion of being able to afford 2 consoles priced at $500-$600 each immediately means i'm like the poorest person in fiction? I may have employed heavy use of hyperbole but at least Bill Gates is a real person, damnit.
