Well a few more trades and signings took place today so guess we should say what we think. For once I am proud my Flyers decided to get Ray Emery for at least a year, he could be good for them if he doesn't rage from a terrible defense in front of him. David Clarkson going to the Leafs will definitely be a huge benefit considering he is a tough guy that does have the ability to put points on the board whenever they need him to, so good move Toronto! Bobby Ryan going to the Senators is a win for the Senators considering Ryan is a fair point producer and its a win for the Ducks since they will get a first round pick out of it. However could it come back to bite them? We shall see. Alfredsson leaving the Senators for the Red Wings sort of surprised me since I thought he would finish his career in Ottawa, but I do think the Red Wings will get some good for at least this one year. The Coyotes signing Ribeiro was a great win since I don't even know any of the Coyotes centers so now they have a very notable and good center, depending if he can keep up what he has done the previous season. Columbus got a pretty good deal out of Nathan Horton since he is a solid forward who can score and hit, but do I think they should have signed him for as long as seven years? Not really, but I could be wrong so who knows. Andrew Ference going the Edmonton will absolutely help the Oilers because they desperately need some sort of defense, and they landed a solid D man so good for them. The Devils signing Clowe was not something I really expected, but when healthy I think they will get some good out of him, have to wait and see before I can really judge it. Finally (I know their is more but I don't feel like typing more xD) is the Leafs re-signing Bozak, which was probably expected since they got Clarkson as Parker said earlier, however I do think they are paying him more than he should be (which is I think 4.2 million per year, check the math just in case since math is not my best subject). Lots of things can happen in the offseason, and today was a prime example.

I hate all of those people who say every year almost every signing was overpaid. In todays market in the 4 major sports in NA (NHL, NBA, NFL, MLB) you almost have to overpay to get the best FA each offseason. Not every year is going to be the same in terms of quality, but that doesnt mean people will all of a sudden become reasonable adults and actually pay players what they are worth not what it takes to sign them on your team.

You thought he was the cats meow all throughout last season :P Now hes bad? Lol. I think hes gonna be great. We need a winger that actually has balls.

I never said he was. I only raved about him when he was on his yearly streak for fantasy purposes. The only reason the Wild even traded Burns for him was b/c he was coming off a 30g season. He has struggled to get even 20 the past 2 years since he left SJ. Playing with guys like Marleau and Thorton will make just about any average wingers numbers jump a bit. I think the Jets media is over hyping a guy who is a average 2-3 line winger.

Iginla going to Boston, would have thought he would stay with the Pens but I guess that didn't work out. Even though its only a one-year contract, it is a great addition to Boston. Good signing I think!

Perron to the Oilers, not the biggest signing in the world but I guess the Oilers need at least something compared to what they had the past few seasons.

It wasn't a signing, it was actually a trade. David Perron from the St. Louis to Edmonton for Magnus Paajarvi and a 2014 second-round draft pick. Not very shocking, the Oilers have been shopping Paajarvi for 2 years and they finally found something they liked.

Yeah just re-read it, so my bad on that. Not much else to say unless its a crazy signing/trade fest. Which it probably won't be.

RFA players and teams can file for salary arbitration to settle some contract disputes. The player and team each propose a salary for the upcoming season, and argue their cases at a hearing. The arbitrator, a neutral third party, then sets the player's salary.

Looks like the US is a bit shallow on the C position and the left off a few names that I was expecting to be on their preliminary list, but I know some of them can still make the team before the roster is set in stone. Looks like Canada has once again gathered if not the best roster on paper.

Hey cool a picture that has nothing to do with the NHL offseason lol.

Don't worry I'll save you! Sooooo Teemu is back for one more year at 2 mil....as a 43 year old! Such a classy guy who always does the right thing, he has 675 goals in his career so I hope he can pot 25 more this year and join that 700 goal club.

Kadri is still not signed (sigh) and the rumor is he wants Eberle kind of pay which would be 5.5-6 mil a year. There is no way in hell Nonis is signing him to that kind of deal so I imagine he'll be signed at 5.25 mil/year for 8 years. It just scares me that a deal like that is happening after a 48 game season...
