Brief Description of Issue: Some sprays including my own appear for me. I recently gave another member a spray and when they sprayed it in game it did not appear on my screen. I am pretty sure all of my settings allow for sprays to appear. My r_decals is set to 2000.

Yes sprays could be seen by everyone but my self.

i can see my own spray and others can too.

The spray i made for someone else could be seen by them and everyone else but no my self and i also cannot see a lot of other peoples sprays too.

This is not a priority topic just if you can fix it or find out why it would be helpful to enforce no pornography spray rule.

here is my autoexec if it could be something i altered in there..

Please make a backup of your current .cfg file, and move it to another location (like your desktop). This backup is only temporary. If the following fixed the problem, it can be deleted.

Please put the following file into the dod/cfg folder, as you would when installing an autoexec file for the first time. Please follow the steps outlined in this post.

Use this file as the autoexec.cfg.

I have taken the config you provided, removed unnecessary commands which were setting variables to their default value. I also removed a few conflicting commands. Please try it, and post back with a result.

This tells me that the problem is not related to the config, as I was using the config I posted last night as a test and spays were working as they should.

Just to re-affirm that there are no commands interfering with the sprays displaying, please access the command line for DOD:S through Steam. To do this, right click on Day of Defeat: Source in your Steam library (The steam window), and click properties. From there, click "launch options" and add the following into the box that appears; -autoconfig

This will bypass all custom settings, restoring default values to the game. If it does not work, simply remove the -autoconfig command from the launch options, and your game will return to as it was before.

Do you have any custom content installed into DOD:S?

I had a similar problem once, I fixed it by going into the Steam settings under "Cloud" and turning off "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for applications that support it" when I rebooted DoD:S the sprays worked then. Later I turned the synchronization back on and its worked ever since then.

my new config guys. It did not fix my problem though, it hasn't changed anything.

I'm not sure what I am suppose to be looking for in that, but none of it seems relevant to my situation. I can see my spray perfectly fine no issues. Its other sprays i cant see. I could almost see everyone's spray a day ago at a realism. Everyone's but brown's spray.

We solved Pinion's problem with seeing sprays by sending him a copy of a .cfg file that worked with sprays. Bradley sent the file to Pinion and now his sprays work. Do you have a custom cfg file? If not would you like for Bradley to send you his working cfg file?

  1. Enter game and go to the options menu. Go to the advanced video options and report what is in the bottom right: directx levels and windows aero.

  2. Head over to the multiplayer tab and under advanced please report what the decal limit is set to.

  3. Use the following directory to find the temp folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\materials\temp. Delete everything inside of the temp folder. Then play in the pub for a little while and when you exit the game please report back if there are any files within the temp folder. If you have VTFedit installed on your comp please report if you are able to open any of the files. Hint: The files are all the sprays that were sprayed in the pub while you were connected to the server.
