Starforge

Starforge is on sale via steam for the next 40 hours give or take. Its a take on minecraft in space from what i can tell but focusing more on combat and weapons, the games only in alpha right now and im interested and was wondering if any MRBers had checked it out or purchased the alpha.

Thoughts? Opinions? Information or any kind? What do you like or not like about it?

This game is so very Alpha, it's really hard to figure out if it's going to be a good one. I played a little co-op in it, and the physics are weird as hell. There's little explanation about the crafting, placing objects, or even the controls. So in that it's very similar to how Minecraft was at launch. However, this doesn't have the same feel as Minecraft as immediately they started sending waves of worms trying to kill this weird pod thing we were supposed to defend for some reason. There needs to be more explanation, especially when it comes to the weapons. You started picking up guns that are like 5 guns attached to each other in this big hodge-podge, and you have no idea if it is better than the previous 5 gun monstrosity you were using. Oh, and meleeing the worms was completely pointless. Even when you picked up a weapon that is 4 chainsaws strapped to each other.

If they do it right, sure, it could be a load of fun. But when I played it needed a lot of work.

Thanks Kirkendall I still have a whole day if i believe its worth the 10 dollars or not but we shall see. The question is how long will development take for it to be in beta, which could cause some serious disinterest on my part.
