It makes sense, at least his argument that there really is no way to negotiate on the price for medicine that will allow you to live.

Doesn't the local government tell utilities what they can charge for them? Since power and water are pretty much necessitates, they could do the same thing, and just charge whatever they want.

Good video, he's done his research quite well.

Being a Canadian myself, I was under the impression we did pay more for health care than Americans, so that surprised me. However, that still doesn't change the fact we still pay far more taxes and have far better minimum wages in general than the majority of the states, so it may still play a factor in the relative success (barring the overuse for useless crap) in our system.

I'll never forget though when my Grandmother was visiting some of my relatives in the states while one of them was getting some small surgery, and my Grandfather wanted a warm blanket while they were sitting in the waiting room, one of the Nurses warmed a blanket up in a microwave, $250. You guys pay way too much for stuff that shouldn't cost that much. Its a system that benefits those who have wealth, and unfortunately most of America isn't in that tax bracket, last statistic I heard was that basically you guys have a population the size of Canada's that has no health care at all. Not sure what it is now though.

I agree with this guy that the solution isn't simple and nor is the problem, but I personally doubt that it'll change. So long as Captialist mindset (or at least the need to make the maximum amount of profit at the expense of everyone and everything else) that has filtered through every aspect of Upper Class American society(which is basically the part which holds all of the power to change these things) is still around, nothing will change. Its just like interest rates on credit cards, nobody in the world can afford to pay 14% interest or whatever it is once a payment starts compounding, and although politicians may promise lower interest rates in their platforms, as soon as the election is over the credit card companies call their well-dressed lobbyists and end the motion without even raising their voices.

That's just my opinion, flawed though it may be. There is too much money being made off of it as it is right now for anyone who is taking a piece of that pie to want it to go lower. Just like Oil and Gas, Chemical Preservatives, and Condominiums being built in place of buildings needed for infrastructure.

I love how the rich are more deserving of health care than the poor in the U.S yet we in the U.K are branded lefties for adopting the NHS.

The irony is that the film 'In Time' starring Justin Timberlake didn't do to badly at the box office in the U.S Aka the one about the rich living forever at the expense of the poor.

Freedom! Liberty! (Built upon the shoulders of inequality!!)

Freedom! Liberty!

I don't disagree that our healthcare system is a complete mess and we are not perfect, but I will say that our predecessors did get these things right!

Native Americans? Didn't the old and the sick just wonder away from the tribe to die? ;)

Woah, woah, what? That movie did badly at the US box office. On a budget of $40 million, it grossed $37 million domestic. For comparison, "Paranormal Activity 3" released that same month on a budget of $5 million. It grossed $104 million domestic. In Time was also given a Rotten(both critically and by users) on Rotten Tomatoes, which is pretty good at gauging audience reception.

Yes   Which game title are you applying for? Hell Let Loose   If you've selected Hell Let Loose, do you understand that this game is currently not cross platform capable and only PC players currently may apply? ( Steam or PC Game Pass) Yes   Why do you wish to join the 1st Marine Raiders? I've played BFV and milsimed in it, and it was a lot more fun when I milsimed. and I enjoy playing HLL, so I think it is going to be more fun when I join.   Did any of our current members play a part in you enlisting? If so, who? If none, how did you learn about us: I found you guys from a website called disboard when looking for HLL milsim groups to join.   This unit offers more than just a place to play games with each other, do you have any online skills you think would be useful? no   Do you have any Leadership experience that you think will be helpful? I'm not sure if it will be helpfull, but I used to be in BFV milsim groups and in my last one I got to [E-7] out of [E-1] to [O-8], so I was a NCO and I helped the officers with whatever they needed doing, weather it was assisting with training, settling disputes or helping them decide what was appropriate disciplinary action. And when we were in combat I was usually assigned to lead my own squad.   Have you ever been in a realism unit before, and if so, which unit was it? yes. I was in quite a few BFV milsim groups, although I was only in one at any given time. unfortunately, I have left the discord servers and I do not remember the names of them. if you would like, I could probably give a reference to someone who was an officer in most of the groups I was in.   By posting this Enlistment form, I acknowledge the instructions completely, declare that I am 16 years old or older, and agree that I have and will follow server and unit rules maturely and respectfully or face immediate rejection.
