Interesting...it says my name is early Anglo-Saxon from before the Norman invasion in 1066 with variations of my name like Gandy, Gandey, Gameday, Candey, Ganty and Canty.

We were also said to hold a family seat in Suffolk, England as Lord of the Manor. The name was first referenced in 1327 when John Gameday held estates in Suffolk County.

Sorry the name Penkauskas was not found...

God damnit! I guess I'm just related to some dirty peasant farmers, lol. I'm heinz 57 though. I've done research in the past and found a strong lineage on my grandmothers side to the Murray clan of scotland.

Also, my last name means seafoam. Apparently when the catholic church grew and became more powerful, they issued or had people pick surnames for taxes. Most people picked names relating to their trade or took the name of their lord. The Penkauskas' are from Lithuania, which borders the Baltic Sea. Which, makes me assume, we were fisherman or at least lived on the coast.

Thank you for the share! Very interesting topic Griswold!
