This is what gives fighting a bad name in the NHL. Orpiks hit was clean, and he shouldn't be expected to fight after it. The knee to the head by Neal was a cheap shot for sure, and he should be suspended for 5 games. Thornton should get at least 10 for the slewfoot and following sucker punch THAT KNOCKED ORPIK UNCONSCIOUS, especially because it was obviously premeditated.

The frustrating part is that the NHL will have some bullshit explanation for these ridiculous suspensions. I'd be willing to bet Thornton gets 4 games because he "apologized" and Neal will get 1 because he is a first time offender.

EDIT

After re-watching the vid, it looks like Thornton gave Orpiks a forearm shiver.

Hey guys, new to the forum, DoD, and PC gaming as a whole! I'd first like to thank Gearhart for orienting me with the website, the game, and the PC itself. Now with my introduction out of the way,

LET'S GO CAPS! Please feel free to give me crap about Alex Ovechkin and the goaltending shithole we have found ourselves in.

As far as current news is concerned, who do you guys want to see goaltend for Team USA?

It looks like it'll be Ryan Miller, Jimmy Howard and Jonathan Quick goaltending for USA. The starting job is between Quick and Miller, Miller has experience since he played in it 4 years ago but Quick has the most recent Vezina. I would start with Miller but if he looks shaky I would sub in Quick. Howard is gonna be riding the bench the entire time.

Epic video montage by CBC before the game.

First things first, GO LEAFS GO! What a game, horrible conditions but it reminded me of good old fashioned shinny hockey I played when I was a kid. The win will also make 24/7 more enjoyable for me to watch this Saturday muahaha! Not to mention that Tim Gleason trade, a good stay-at-home defenseman is exactly what this team needs. Great trade!

Now on to Team USA, well I was right about the goalies. Taking Brown and Wheeler over Bobby Ryan will be a huge mistake for the US. Ryan has more skill and creativity than both those players and if you put him on open ice the advantage is in his favor. On defense, I\'m not sure how you take Orpik over Yandle...like wtf?!?!?!

Now I\'m waiting for the stacked team Canada is going to unveil for Sochi.

P.s. Grats to Phil Kessel and JVR on making Team USA and having a fantastic game today!

I would rather see Jonathan Quick start between the pipes. I feel like he is a significantly better goalie than Ryan Miller, and as far as Jimmy Howard, the veteran prescence is important in the olympics. I just wanted to point out I have Bozak and Phaneuf on my fantasy team. :) What a day!

Quick has been injured the past few months so unless he fully recovers I'm not convinced. Miller is probably the best option team USA has and if quick was at full health then I'de go with quick.

That's completley accurate. His injury for some reason was not in my mind last night when reading the rosters lol.

One of my peeps told me that Yeo might be fired if the Wild don't beat the Sabers tonight. Absolutely no excuse for the way this team was built. If that were to happen then Darby would be interim and I know that won't be any better, but this team needs a shake up and fast if they're to make the playoffs (PLAYOFFFFFS!?!?!?!?). Oh well, just another shitty, under performing Minnesota team, at least there are the Gopher's, just don't get me started on that bowl game. Haven't been on the server or the boards in a while, so, hello Major and Poole.

Just because we will beat the Sabers does not mean Yeos job is safe. I have a feeling by this weekend he will be gone.
