Hello, I got a PTU to post a video on your forums.

Here is a great video by Deadly who is a competitive DOD player. It was released today. Hope you enjoy.

Ya works fine for me, but is the whole thing all sped up? What the crap. WAY over-edited.

I agree, excessive editing is used to cover up for the mediocre frags. Not once was i surprised at any of the frags. I'm surprised people still bother to make frag videos for the game, though. I mean, the YouTube hits will just never be there. However, I've got to give it up to the author of the video. I'll never develop that kind of skill in Sony Vegas.

You guys dont seem to get the point of making a frag video. Of course you speed up some parts and get rid of the subpar kills why would you want those in your video. If you would realize the type of players these guys go against you wouldnt scoff at the fact that they might not be pretty.

Well, compared to the ones i've seen in the past, the editing is just.....too much. It makes me want to X it not even a minute into the video, but i toughed it out. I understand speeding it up but the editing overall is just excessive. Just a tad of constructive criticism i guess, i might be used to the older frag videos where it's just pretty much raw frags and little to no editing. In my opinion, the competitive aspect of dods is pretty much dead. I've played cal back in 2006 and trust me, nobody i know even plays anymore. Cal being shut down pretty much sucked the competitive interest right out of the game. Is there another league around that i don't know about? I wouldn't know, i haven't played comp since before i joined the 6th RB almost 7 years back.

Totally agree Engle, but too much of it was sped up. I wanted to see it slowed down to regular speed a few seconds before the kills, so that I could really grasp just how impressive it was. That one huge streak near the beginning, had it ran at normal speed, would have been showcasing all the nuances of his aiming and directional awareness, along with the kills. The speed it ran at undermined just how much skill it took.

SOME editing is necessary, of course. This just has too much in my opinion.

Great video. Some nice frags. This guy has skill AND flair. As for youtube hits; who gives a shit? I watch these videos because I love the game.

The frags in this video are not mediocre. The frags in this video are just like they happened in the game plus some editing to make them look nice.

Go watch the ace against team NRG at 4:00 on dod_Santos. He was my teammate and I was standing right next to him when he got that ace. I witnessed it with my own eyes. It happened pretty much how you see it in the video. I seen the raw demo of it. The other frags in this video I seen raw demos of also.

It is simply not true that he is covering up his frags with editing. His frags are essentially just like you see them in the video with some visual edits.

Agreed that there is nothing mediocre about the frags, that ace was gorgeous, but it was definitely sped up in many places, not to enhance or falsify the coordination necessary to accomplish those shots, but more as a personal preference.

To each their own. Some like that. Some prefer minimal editing. And some like pickles in their ice cream. It is entirely subjective, no one is wrong (except the pickle people).
