So, recently I was hospitalized for what was originally considered to be a stroke. I spent most of the night with my wife crying and my parents sitting at the edge of a bed wondering when I could go home. Turns out I have atypical, complex, migraines. This caused me to lose feeling and sent tingly sensations throughout the right side of my body. As well as, losing vision and slurring...

The solution: Spend less time gaming and get an anti-glare screen. So for the time being I will be balancing this and an online program for my MSW. 30min spurts here and there.

Based on the symptoms you described, I get the same thing, but my triggers are usually dehydration and lack of sleep.

What happens is I experience something called an aura where I start to lose my peripheral vision, followed by numbness on one side of the body, usually starting with the hand, to the arm and into the jaw/mouth area. Finally, I lose my sense of speech and comprehension where I can't read, speak or understand things. It eventually all goes away and then comes the debilitating migraine.

So far, no medication has worked and a cat scan of my brain turned up nothing. They're thinking of giving me cortisone so that I can continue to work as taking a day off in my line of work isn't always an option.

I know how scary it can be and I'm glad that your doctors were able to figure out what it is. Mine still haven't. I hope you will be well in the future.

Aura... that is what they called mine as well. I have a CAT scan and MRI on the 6th. I was told to take Magnesium Oxide to deter it from happening. Holy shit I am glad that I am not the only one in the Unit this happens to but I am also not glad because it was shitty and scary to say the least. I am sorry you are going through this as well.

wow, sorry to hear that it was stroke at first. that would scare the living shit out of me. i am glad and thankful that your better and it wasn't a stroke. migraines can be a pain in the ass sometimes. I usally have to keep my stress down cause of my nerves about being worn out from strain of stress. thus why you guys RARELY hear me say or make any kind of joke or insult jokes/slams. but ANY time you want to chit chat gilmore just hit me up on steam and we can get on vent and you can just chat your heart away so you don't have to look at a screen and i would suggest/advise you drink a BIG cup of hot tea to help you relax some in case your feeling tense about things so you can vent on vent. =) meanwhile we are all here for you and I know we will do all we can to help you feel better emotionally at least either with laughs or just chatting the day away like some old geasers on the patio drinkin beers (but for me it will be tea) lmao. =) hope to hear from you sometime in the future man. *salute*

Hate that it's happening the way it is but also glad (as I know you are) that it wasn't a stroke. I get migraines but I don't show signs of anything else like what you are experiencing. Get better and hopefully they may find something that will help with the condition.

Scary shit man, I'd pay you a visit if I could my friend.

I have had similar experiences when my nerves got squeezed in a bunch from sitting still for too many days straight.

I don't know how many times I've thought I was about to die from it, but in my case I believe its mainly been the anxiety and lack of all that is healthy.

So make sure you drink a lot of water, and you need minerals too! Eat green and cut down on the sugar..

Also stretching when you wake up before sitting down in front of your computer helps, and if you experience muscle pain you can always take a really hot shower and try giving yourself a neck massage afterwards.

Everything is connected, from mind to muscles, nerves and heart..

Get well, I'm here if you wanna chat on vent no problem!

You have to take care of yourself first. Do not overdue it. I know about losing feeling in part of your body. it can be quite scary. I have nerve damage in both arms and I frequently lose feeling in both hands, then the pain comes. My pain is nothing compared to a migraine though. I used to get those in the Army. Cause was working 16 hour days and getting only 4 hours of sleep a night over an 18 month period. DO NOT OVERDO IT. Take care of yourself first. get the sleep you need. don't overdo it on the computer. Do some research online if need be on your illness. see if there are new treatments for it. If push comes to shove, step back from the game for a while. get a handle on your illness and do not pass your limitations. Its a fun game with great people in the 1st MRB, but its not worth making yourself sick to play. If need be, jump on vent and talk to the people to keep up on things til you are well enough to join us again. many people are ready, willing, and able to do this,
