but as mr. yoo states, its the presidents choice and responsability and burden to go up to the last wall or blow it down. Honestly, I feel just as numb minded after watching that interview as Stewart did during it. Stewart was trying to find out what the dude was about and what was the point, and ... all he did was talk in circles.

The bottom line is that there were treaties signed, and they should be respected, regardless, cuz u can bet your ass that the shoe was on the other foot, and america caught wind shit like was happening to our leaders, troops, civilians, etc. everyone would be up in arms. Two wrongs dont make a right, and if he wants to blame the actions on the bases of intell, then shit ... i say we need some better ways to get intell, or just keep shit locked up so tight that if you have to become that necessary evil, it doesnt get let out of the bag. Intell should be preventative in identity, not reactive. (obviously that cannot always be the case, but his argument does not support that idea).

but as Mr. Yoo also stated, the senate or the court justices could have put the nix on it at any time. I'm not saying the methods were right or wrong, but i do believe Jon Stewart's constant hinting and and outright finger pointing needs to go around. Just because the president has the power to start something, doesn't mean the checks and balances put in place wouldn't be able to stop it.

I myself wish Stewart had given Mr. Yoo more time to talk. It seemed as if every time Yoo was getting to his point, Stewart would cut in with some question trying to turn the point of his argument into an "it's all Bushes fault" statement. The whole interview seemed to be stymied by the fact that Stewart was trying to get a statement from his guest about how wrong the person he worked for was, when it really should have been about why the decisions were made in the first place (which in my mind, Stewart didn't care about at all)

I can definatly agree that stewart kept cutting him off and as stated I iwsh they had more time to talk as well. Good post, ill refrain from diving deeper in discussion for the sake of being hospitable seeing as I hate politics anyways
