Coup d'etat in Turkey

Apparently some kind of coup d'etat going on in turkey led by the army, Check the news guys :/

I`m normally for democracy, but in this case I must say Erdogan was really driving the country to the cliff

Somehow I don't think they will be joining the EU anytime soon now.

I hope not; iv'e spent a year in Germany and the turkish population makes up about 10% of their population (concentrated in certain regions it bring it up a lot) and they have a lot of issues with them not learning the language and culture. The country being the major player in the EU, it's no wonder they refuse to open up the gates. Anyway, I would want nothing to do with a country responsible with ISIS uprising (oops I'm next to the US, nevermind that ^^).

Same here, 1 out of 10 is a foreigner, tho we have more moroccan and italian people

Looks like it failed and Erdogan's trying to rally the public to him. Last I heard over 260 were dead, over 1400 wounded or something so far. He's also calling for the US to extradite a Turkish professor back to the country since he thinks the guy had a hand in the attempt.

What makes you guys think it was all real.  People over in Turkey think it was staged so that Erdogan can retain power.  Like Politicians over here, he is very corrupt.

Must agree with you there Hill; the more I look into it, the more it looks staged. The part that makes me doubt the most is the purge of what, about 3 000 juges, including 10 from supreme court. There's no way they found evidence to lock them all up over night :p.

It probably was, if you want your coup to succeed you have to block all connection as tv an internet, they barely blocked stuff. might have been with purpose

yeah, last succesfull one was in late 80's i think
