So, I really don't know how to fix this, if you haven't fixed it yet. But I can give you an educated guess! :)

1 - The lag problem - Make sure you close all programs you arent using before starting DoD (Example - Limewire, MSN, Internet Browsers, Security Programs <AVG, Norton, Etc> and basically all programs that connect to the internet. I used to have mad lag problems and then when I close AVG security it would fix it and my ping would go back to the regular 80.)

2 - Your driver problem - If you mean like sound drivers and video drivers, make sure you know the make and model of your card, and go on the website of it and they have all of the driver updates there. If you have an Nvidia video card all you need to do is go to the website and do you driver scan. It will find the model of your driver and all updates for it, as well as the most recent version compared to your version. This might be available on other driver website as well. (ATI and stuff like that)

Hey in game my input is like 1000. and out put is like 300

why is it doing that

and is there a way to fix it?

Also, is there a way to update my drivers with out opening my comp and trying to find out what they are?

Gio,

I have seen where outdated video drivers can cause MASSIVE random lag spikes, and also disconnects, etc.

As Mitchell pointed out, there are programs that can eat up your bandwidth and cause massive in game lag as well - anti-virus programs, downloading programs, bittorrents, etc. Make sure those are all turned off, and try gaming with those turned off to see if it's something like that causing the issue first.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, the next step would be to check some of your drivers - the most typical culprits are video with sound a close second.

Are you using Windows XP? Vista? 7?

You can check driver dates by opening your Device Manager.

On Vista/7 you can get there by right clicking on My Computer -> select Properties -> Device Manager is on the left hand side.

I believe on XP the process is fairly similar.

Once in the Device Manager - click on the + next to the Display Adapters and you will see your video card displayed (the make/model)

Right click on your video driver and select "Properties"

On the next screen select the "Driver" tab at the top - then you can see the driver version, and the driver date. If it's older than 6 months, it's a good idea to update.

To update the driver, go to the manufacturers website and do a search for your make/model

They will have you download a .exe file that takes care of everything else

After updating you'll be prompted to reboot your computer most likely... and I've found that it's always a good idea after the reboot, to open up device manager, and check the driver date again, to make sure the driver update was applied appropriately.

Once that's done, try playing again and see if some of the lag spikes are gone.

If they're not - try the same thing for your audio drivers.

If the lag spikes are STILL not gone, then we can reassess the situation at that time.

Let me know if any of this helps.
