It was good but i didnt see much character depth. Hopefully later eps we get better info on the characters and stuff...need more character life!

If you have HBO they were showing previews an character analysis of all th main actors/soliders.

Missed it on Sunday but Colonel in my ROTC taped it and we watched today for the officer period at school, damn good stuff. Was hoping we'd get to watch this because he always showed the band of brothers to the officers around the ending of the year and I dont feel like watching that for the 483621st time. Plus its all Marine stuff and the rotc is marine based so even better.

I also highly recommend "With The Old Breed" the book Sledge wrote.

Oh and happy john basilone day for all you new jersery people.

Did anyone catch the guys name who came to dinner. One of the Marines was named J.P. Morgan.

Any relation to the finance guy?

This got me interested too 2LT..

ill look into it and let you know.

I did a search on J.P. Morgan.

And he was alive from April 17, 1837 – March 31, 1913.

Which means its impossible to evenn serve in WWI.

I looken in his personal like and he had a son named J.P. Morgan Jr. he was alive from September 7, 1867 — March 13, 1943.

So he would have been 75 or 76 to serve in the marines in the miniseries.

I also looked and it said he had 4 children but didnt name them.

So i dont think that one of his decendants is a J.P. Morgan III.

My grandfather never left San Antonio, his three older brothers however were all in Germany. I have no idea where there were or who they were attached to, but they all returned home safely.

They were all Army btw.

Didn't have any grandfathers serve in the Pacific, but my dad's dad served in the Battle of The Bulge, and my Stepgrandfather on my mother's side was a former Green Beret who worked with the Montangards in Vietnam. Badass shit.

One of my Grand Uncles was with the Canadian Detachment to Kiska after the Japs and the Marines pulled out of there. They we're on task to secure the island in case any japs we're to return. He saw one of his buddies blow up from a jap booby trap...
