Sounds

Name: DOD:S Weapon Overhaul V2

Where to download? http://dods.gamebanana.com/sounds/18970

Size of download? 7mb

Does the the file have read me file? If yes, is it easy to understand? No

Other Comments: Honestly its hard to tell with this sound pack, Some of the sounds are great, others sound like a toy gun, such as the STG (axis Support) and the Springfield sniper, and M1 Carbine. A lot of them don't sound like they have the force of the weapon behind them. However most the axis weapons sound great, the K98, and the sniper both sound great, the mp40 (assault) sounds great, you can hear the kinking of the bolt sliding back and forth from firing the weapon. Also the nades all sound good, they gave them a metal plinking sound when it hits the ground. All the reload sounds are good, its mainly just the actual firing of weapons that sometimes don't sound very good.

Does the the file have read me file? If yes, is it easy to understand? No, instructions provided on download link

Other Comments: new sound for the MG42, sounds much cleaner and sharper. Not quite so ear gougingly staticy like the old one. Quite a good fit.

Name: Marine Hymn victory theme

Where to download? http://www.gamebanana.com/sounds/3777

Size of download? 312kb

Does the the file have read me file? Yes and yes.

Comments: Well, this one is kind of tricky. If your going for realistic for the time period of WW2, this is perfect, the audio quality fits. But if your going for quality of audio, stay away. This is also the instrumental only, no chorus to sing along to and the theme cuts out at an awkward time.

Name: Menu Music!

Where to download? http://www.mediafire.com/?yo1inccmqn5w82n

Size of download? 5mb

Does the the file have read me file? If yes, is it easy to understand? Yes and it is correct

Comments: This music plays when you start the game. It changes the start music to a more modern war movie style and changes the feel of the start menu slightly. The only thing I can say about the music is it starts with a little force and made me jump when I first started my game. Only adds one song to the start menu.

Size of download? 126 kb

Does the the file have read me file? If yes, is it easy to understand? No, not provided with instructions like his others are

Other Comments: Swap out sound for the C96, sounds a bit heavier, and the distancing on it really helps. Makes it sound a bit heavier then original which I like

Name: shaTT's Public Enemies Sound Pack

Where to download? http://www.gamebanana.com/sounds/9939

Size of download?3 mb

Does the the file have read me file? If yes, is it easy to understand? No read me, however it is just a basic sound pack installation

Other Comments: This is a sound pack to overhaul all the sounds of the weapons except for the bazookas. It actually is pretty badass, uses the gun shot sounds off the movie Public Enemies and applied to weaponry.

Overall Grading

Appearance: 4.5 (Sounds are pretty good, nice distancing)

Ease of Use/Realistic: 5.0 (Easy enough to install, and some of the sounds that are made are based off the actual guns, so its pretty realistic)

Name: us/ger win @ half volume

Where to download? http://www.gamebanana.com/sounds/5751

Size of download? 1 mb

Does the the file have read me file? If yes, is it easy to understand? No.

Comments: This "us/ger win @ half volume" does just as it says: the victory music is now at half the original volume. For those people (like me)

who found the original victory music to be too loud, then this will help a bunch. But, then again, it's the user's preference.

Though very simple, this custom change has the potential to have a large impact on one's DoD:S experience.
