Other Comments: The map is set in an Axis controlled town early in the morning with heavy fog. The fog creates a dramatically decreased field of vision only allowing you to see 10-20 feet in any direction. The town is split in half by a river with 2 bridges connecting the sides. There are a total of 5 flags: four one-man caps (German generator, German street, The balcony, and Allied half-track) and one two-man cap (brick bridge). This is a medium sized map with several routes which would allow for both realism and pub play. There are also several large buildings with many rooms for realism defenses. The main problem that could inhibit play is the fog that decreases your range of vision, however this could also be seen as an interesting change.

Other Comments: It is an .exe file. run it and change the directory to w/e you want. then after the map is extracted, move the files into the map folder itself. Mid sized map that reminds me of Assassin's Creed. Destroyed church setting with plenty of routes to choose from. The hallways linking to other areas however has unnatural colored support beams. They're glowing white in which I'm guessing it's this map's version of light in dark areas. Many pillars and are stretched out and it feels as if it can be close quarter yet sniping at the same time.

Other Comments: Extract and move map in the map folder. I'm pretty certain we already have this map as I've played it on our server and it's one of my personal favorites. Night time setting and a slightly big map. It has plenty of spaces for ambush and/or outright slaughter. Great map for realism.

Other Comments: Extract and move map in the map folder. This map is unnaturally huge. It took me a while to venture every single spot. Abundant areas for sniping and hiding. No excessive amounts of furniture or other material. It's as if they took an entire town and replicated it. Only downside I can think of was the extreme size of this map. Even with 32 players I still think many will run around looking for each other. There are connectors though as shortcuts to evade/bypass sniping roads and such.

The map is centered around the 2 man cap located in the ruins, 2 adjacent attack approaches to the main attack in center running the length of the map. Playable buildings line the sides of the center cap. Nothing memorable about this map. No minimap.

Comments: This map is centered around a German V2 launch site with some warehouses and a complex bunker system overlooking the launch sites. While visually appealing through screenshots, the interiors of most buildings in the map itself are very open, with wide entrances and very little cover. When it comes down to close quarters fighting it's just a matter of who is faster on the draw inside. Outside is a different story, as quick-peeking is essential against the bunker system overlooking the sites, and a good riflemen to pull of that clean headshot is a must, unless you can get a lucky rifle nade in. As far as the map itself, it can become confusing as it is very non-linear, most hemispheres of the map are connected through corridors or roads running the length of the map, but other then that I would say it could provide an interesting experience. This map is a 3 site/2 bomb per site map. This map has a map timer.

Comments: Very nice map. One main middle crossing which will make for a good stalemate. Though, Allied first flag is super close to their spawn, and their spawn isn't easily defined by sandbags or any kind of barrier.

Comments: Great map to realism on, large, multiple avenues of approach and plenty of defensive positions. One of the higher quality maps you can download these days. Lighting is good, no clumsily "improvised" structures. Very good, I recommend it for the community.

Comments: Just spawn as an Allied soldier in the Ardennes forest. It's winter time and I'm surrounded by pine trees with some foliage closer to the ground, but other then that, it's completely open. "Sniper map, obviously" I think to myself as I navigate towards the end of the treeline, but before I reach it, I fall into and obscured icy trench, barely visible. Okay, this might be going somewhere. As I make my way towards the snowed over open field I instantly recognize this as being similar to the battle of foy from the hbo miniseries Band of Brothers. The haystacks, couple of sheds and a general open sniper/mg paradise that lead into a small village. I see a church tower at the edge of town closest to allied spawn with a opening for the bell tower, perfect sniper hide. I make my way through town and the various buildings before I notice that in the road, there is no cover. Providing over-watch and taking a defensive posture while attacking this town is crucial for survival. I get towards the center of town and notice the Flak-88's, so for shits and giggles I attempt to "use" them: *Bang!* Well thats cool I guess, *Boom in the distance" okay now it's actually cool, effective and playable artillery. I make my way to the German spawn which resembles a Wermacht HQ, draped with swastikas and all. Double back to the Church and poke my head out of the church tower, and to my amazement, I am snow blind and have to wait a couple seconds before my eyes adjust to see anything. Luckily enough for the allies the fog of war covers their assualt far enough out that they have a fighting chance. As far as I am concerned, this map is a must for the 1st MRB. No minimap.

Other Comments: The map is honestly pretty well made, it is just like the normal argentan but with some differences, other than the fact that it's at night. The middle train station building, where middle flag is located, is not blown apart, it is still in tact and has a train car with some cars on it, and some barrels in there. The building to the left of the middle flag if you are coming from allies side, does not have a kitchen, it is instead a room with some engines, and piles of bombs, otherwise the rest of the building is the same. On the allies side, there is a train on the tracks that gives a cool red lighting effect on that part of the map. Basically the map is solid, some minor changes in props and objects on the map, but it's overall the same map, just at night. The only couple glitches I found were that the rocks that are on the allies and axis side of the train tracks, are not loading in correctly, so you get the purple/black checker print on them, also on main street on allies side going to the middle flag, the ramp up has a couple of the letters on the ground where they are on the middle building. The last stupid mess up on the creators part is in the building I stated earlier the allies building that connects to the middle building, on the main floor in the corner there is a spot on the ground that actually has the brick ground piece which should be outside not inside. Nothing major just some minor glitches is all.

Other Comments: This is a xsmall map that is a mirror image for allied and axis side, the only difference is the size and layouts of each building. This map has the setting of A small town that has a North West to South East orientation with one main road though the center of it with many sandbags on it. On the sides of the road there a multiple buildings with many windows to shoot onto the main road. On both the West and East side of the map there is a small open area both with allied/axis 2nd flags in them. There are also manly tight alley ways and ways though the buildings. This is a 5 cap flag with the center single cap flag (with an 8 second time on it) in the middle of the main road. Both allies and axis have their 1st flags on the main street right near their spawn areas. Then the 2nd flag for each side is in a small open area in both the east and west side of main road of the map. There are lots of tight alley ways with corners that could be used for choke points, but because there are so many alley ways and buildings to go though no one choke point would give a clear advantage. There is no movable furniture that could be used for barricading. The center cap area could be a choke point while playing in the pub. This map would be a great fit for both the pub and the private server. Negative- The spawn points have invisible walls that might be confusing in a realism.

Other Comments: This map appears / feels small in size to me. It is, however, a really balanced map. It is more of street fighting since most of the buildings are sealed off. There are only 4 buildings outside of spawn where people can be. Two in middle, and one outside of each spawn. There are also four paths you can choose to attack with, and the left side and right side is connected through the middle. Most fighting would have to take place on the streets, where the cover is only provided by walls, and misc vehicles scattered about. Snipers and Rifles should have an easy time picking off people from a distance. Autos would have to ambush by corners an such.

Other Comments: Medium sized map that takes place in a small village I assume. The map has 1 main route and 1 side route. The main route has little cover and leads to the central courtyard. The side route takes you thorough many buildings and provides more cover. The issues I found is that most of the props are unmovable. The buildings inside also have very little props or rooms to provide you cover. This would make a good map to pub on since there are less campable spots, but not as much so for realisms. Oh, the fires in one of the hallways can FPS lag low end PC users.

Other Comments: This map is quite symmetrical in appearance, but looking past that this is a very good map. It has lots of different levels in the buildings which add to the way the map is played. For example access to the beach is limited to going down into a basement of some of the buildings. There are a lot of different textures around which help make this map visually great and appealing, while also having the added fact of having quite a few movable objects (with some that I haven't seen on any other map). Overall I think this map would be great in a pubbing environment, as it's quite easy to learn, while still staying interesting, as for realism this map has enough different spots for placement, and many different ways for it to play out that it would be also great.

Other Comments: Upon reevaluation of this map, I was shown a link which provided a minimap. Thus fixing the problems for both pub and realism play. As mentioned before this map is very clean and well designed. The quality is exceptional for its large size, there is just enough cover to keep gameplay fair in both aspects. There are plenty of places to defend on both sides such as the church and warehouse for allies and axis respectively. For a full server this map would work well in Pub play, being so large a low server population would make it a bit difficult but still possible. I would consider this map large in size.

Other Comments: This is a medium size map with 4 cap points on it. The middle two flags are double caps while the 1st flags are single caps. This map is set in a forested area with multiple pill boxes set up in strategic places across the map. By the 1st flags there are watchtowers looking over the area. There is a trench system that runs through the middle of the map that can be used for cover. I feel like this map is slightly biased towards the axis on defense because they have the uphill advantage in the middle part of the map. The axis side also has 2 strong choke points between their 1st and 2nd flag. There is a tunnel system that can be used to flank axis positions. This map has motors set up around the middle of the map. I believe that this map would be suitable for both realism and public use. One thing that must be decided for realism is if spawns are open or not because each side has a very large spawn area. There are no moveable objects that would be useful for barricading. I found one glitch area on this map where I got stuck jumping off the allied sniper perch on the far left side of the perch. There is one spot while leaving allied spawn where the image rendering is a little off, but I don�t believe it would be an issue for game play.

Other Comments: This map is big, with a lot of open areas and buildings. Highly recommend it to be used as a custom pub map and realism map as well. Paths are very straightforward and would do well as a big realism map. Also, it looks like a great map to pub on when we have a full server, so it gets my vote as well as a pub map option.

Other Comments: This map is big, due in part to its vast underground tunnel system, accessible at different points in the map. Very well-designed war-torn city, the lay out of the map is a bit confusing, as it is in an odd shape. A few complaints are that some areas appear accessible (such as one open stairwell and the riverbed) when they are not. However, I think this map is decent and would make for a good realism map, though not a great pubbing one, as its twists and turns will surely prove to be a bit confusing.

Other Comments: the download might not activate, requiring you to click the direct link button. Regarding the map itself, it consists of one main road connecting axis and allied spawns. Key points on the map are labelled with big lettering on the map. 5 single capture flags are located in places both on and off the main road, the allied first flag is on a statue just outside spawn, the second flag in a cemetery just to the left further up the main road, the middle flag is under an archway off the main road, accessible by the axis by climbing over boxes. The second axis flag is tucked in a space just off the main road, while the first axis flag is just steps outside the axis spawn. Allies spawn around a corner next to their tank, while axis spawn either in a building near spawn or by their tank. Spawns are clearly marked on the maps, showing where the barriers are. There seems to be a cumbersome spawn shield right next to the axis flag, the flag is close to its border, meaning axis could shoot allied soldiers from their spawn building. Visually the map looks very good, akin to existing core dods maps, very detailed. Because of that awkward spawn barrier, this map might be iffy but not impossible for pub play, but because of its numerous houses and dark corners it could be considered a good realism map. A final note, there are some shiny ovens placed in the houses, these cause damage if you stand on or next to them.

Other Comments: The map is much larger than boulets. Consisting of a u-boat base and a town. The town is one main road, with the only offshoots going into the base, and a couple of alleys behind the buildings. There are a few buildings, but the main road would be a sniper or mg's dream, its straight and the only way up it is pressing forward in either direction. The flags are situated on the road and in the base. the first allied flag is near a statue to the left of the road out of spawn, the second is in the uboat base in a large open room atop immovable barrels. The doors to the allied second flag are shrouded in mist and open automatically when players approach. the middle flag is a single capture on a crashed car. The first axis flag is to the right of spawn on the road on a fountain, the second is in one of many conjoining uboat docks in the base. Overall the map is detailed very well, though errors can be present for players on the maps outer borders and sky. Other than the error, the map is very detailed and realistic, with small details everywhere. Even the bathroom in the base has openable doors, though these could lead to camping in Pub use, though if players stick to the main road this can be a fast paced game. For realisming, this would be an excellent map, it has many places to hide and defend in especially with the moving doors in the base alerting incoming enemy troops, though not many dark windows or corners. Overall a better realism map than Pub map, though still a good pub map.

Other Comments: Beautiful map, really well done. Realistic streets, with buildings in middle. 2 courtyards in middle, 2 store houses around and 2 side streets. Lack of real movable barricades, only assorted small breakable ones, but really realistic map and should definitely be tried in a realism.

Other Comments: This is an XLarge map set in an urban area. There are 6 single cap flags set up around the map. There are bomb points that open up new routes for the player to go through on the map. This is a remake of the map dod_caen. The changes made to the map are a good improvement I feel. They opened up a lot of the building adding a bunch of new windows that can be shot from. They added more bomb points to this map, but it does not really open up any new routes, just more walls to go through to get to the same routes from dod_caen. This map would be suitable for both realism and public server use. There are some moveable objects that could be used for barricading. I didn�t not find any glitches on this map.

Other Comments: This is a medium map, with 4 flags. Two axis, two allies with no neutral flag. The map looks very appealing until you reach what looks like a pathway between the areas which is a bit underground. Through that entire area there seems to be shoddy editing where half the ground is shiny and half of it isn't. The minimap shows parts of the map which look accessible on it, but aren't probably due to the map editing. In it's design the map seems a bit haphazard in its design, not really evenly sized on each side. Pub play would be confusing since you start off with explosives on both sides, but they only open one bombable door, while the other is already opened but still shown on the minimap as a target. Realism play would be better since there are many nooks and crannies around that can be used on both sides, lots of barricades and sandbags and wooden structures to hide around and defend well. Even though its appearance is a little off, it looks like a decent map.

Can get very lost in the map, may be too congested with too many areas to be. A possible pub map, for a 14v14 + match. Realism potential is minimal. Too much going on for a realism IMO. Otherwise the map is beautiful, with good detail and decent design. Mini map could use some revamping though, a bit confusing and still makes it easy to get lost.

The 2nd version of the map had some slight additions from the original, such as a path between the cellar and catch area stock tires, another exit from axis spawn, added church sounds, the lighting was different, and the file said it deleted an aircraft noise. The added paths and exit (axis spawn) make it a little easier for pub use but not enough to raise it a rank. It is still cluttered and congested making it hard to travel through without getting lost, multiple corners and places to hide and ambush. **After further examination of the map and becoming familiar with it I have bumped up the Ease of Use for Realism**

Other Comments: This map is huge... I'd say XL. It is a bomb map where the allied forces have to detonate one bomb on each of 4 artillery spots. There is a decent amount of walking from the spawn and bomb crates to each of the 4 cannons which are in the rear of the axis side, this is also in some large open areas where the only cover are a few trees and hedges. An interesting idea for pub play and realism play, as there are lots of places to hide out in the open. Mini-map seems to be absent though but that can be fixed with more research probably. A full pub server would be effective to play this map. Only problem lies in the cannons themselves which selectively show themselves when you walk around them. other than that no other faults.

Other Comments: Very well done map. Lots of movable props, but most of them are small breakable ones. If you watch Band Of Brothers, you would recognize this area. Lots of bombed out buildings. Only issue is that there seems to be an invisible wall in spawn ( its not fully open, about 95%) and the other team's spawn is sealed off by invisible wall as well.

Other Comments: Over all this map is a great tight quarters map; there are not a whole lot of houses and buildings but those that are there if they have more than one room have good cadable options; not a lot of variety but the furniture is movable. There is a roof that you can get on with a low grade slope (it is an 8x8 roof if you know what that means) so it would be realistic for someone to be running across it; from the roof you have a good point of view into the connector building from allied side. The courtyard that is the entry to the roof area and an entrance to sewers so it is not a unfair advantage to the defending team to be using it. One of the cadable rooms is awesome because really quickly we can drop the piano into the stairwell and it is fairly hard to move but the upstairs room would be very vulnerable to nades and being flanked so they would have to be up front and aware in the upstairs otherwise it is a waste of personnel. Overall I think that this would be a great 5V5-10V10 map as it is tight with not a lot of places to set up your defense but the defense points that are available are easily defended with few people in place.

This can make it difficult if you are a first time skin/map installer, however SLG actually when you download it dl's a .exe file to install the map into your dod files and gives you the rout that you need to install it too in the first screen that opens with the installer.

Comments: This is a great looking map minus the extremely abrupt skybox on the allied fields, the ground extends about two feet past where you can walk and there is an armored car and then nothing but skybox, this could potentially lead to problems with frame rate if someone were to pop smoke near that edge as there may or may not be a leak from the playable space to the skybox, and at worst extreme packet loss due to the leak into the skybox taking up a massive amount of resources on the server as well as client side.

Moving on, the map boasts an amazing amount of diversity in the cover offered, in the allied and axis fields there is an abundance of shrubbery that you can move through (like the bush in gardens on donner but taller) and partially see through if you are looking closely enough. I can see this being a major factor in trying to clear out say an mg that has a spotter so they can fire and move without being sighted. once you move beyond the fields it quickly become tight quarters were the deficit in rate of fire for the car would be greatly felt making the church and axis side buildings a haven for automatics. That being said church tower is a calculated risk, if you were to use it for a sniper nest he/she may get 4 shots off before being picked off, but those shots would be practically into the enemy spawn and thus make the attacking team start at a heavy disadvantage. Interior of the church is wide open with the back having suffered either artillery or aerial bombardment and there is a good stack of sandbags in there that a rifleman could use as a bunker point, there are two side rooms off the church's main room, a bathroom and bedroom/pantry, the bathroom can only be entered through the door making it a great defensive position for an assault and it also provides flanking support to a rifleman in the sandbag position. On the axis side of town there is a two story building that has a bank of windows watching the main road of the town but no windows looking over the fields. On attack the axis have a nice set of hedges on the allied side of the map that they could use effectively to have their attack move from one side of map to the other without being spotted easily. The allied attackers could move from the cemetery to a courtyard on the axis side of church without being seen but when entering the courtyard the allies will be completely open to fire for about 15 feet from the axis side of the map and also open to fire from someone on the main street. All in all the map is axis favoring as they have the church and a full apartment they can utilize as well as a shed that is beyond the halfway mark of cemetery. The allied side of the map does not have a single building that can be entered, however I believe that our cartographers could remedy this fairly easily (I hope I am not speaking out of turn) as their are 2 or 3 buildings that could be opened up on the allied side of the map.

*edit* I was able to maintain 215 fps the nearly the entire time i tested this map, the frames dropped to around 195 near the axis spawn as their are more varying textures there

Other Comments: This map is pretty good and takes place in the medium sized French town of Claviers. The town has a main street running north-south with the allied spawn on the west end of town and axis on the east end. There are 4 flag captures: two 1-man caps (one each on the north and south ends of main street) another 1-man cap slightly behind the Allied 1-man. In the middle of main street there is a 2-man flag cap. There are a series of buildings running the length of main street on both the east and west sides that provide the maps only building cover. Inside them there are several stories and movable props that would suit a small-medium realism well. In the pub this map would do well with half to almost full server, however, it may get slightly congested with a full server.

Other Comments: This is a decent map, of medium to large size. For pub play there are 6 flags to be capped, 2 starting flags already captured for allied and axis and two double cap neutral flags in the middle along the two roads. Overall it is a very balanced map, plenty of places to hide in and enough corners to keep players guessing where enemy fire comes from. Nearly every building with an entrance can be used in a defence, including the flags themselves, having plenty of ruins and walls to deal with. Some holes in buildings provide a good rifleman enough view to catch a defender off guard, while defender cover allows easy surveilance over large areas, high cover and a wide range of sight. This would be a great map for pub and realism play.

Other Comments: According to comments on gamebananna this map is supposedly a remake of Chemille from the original DoD. I've not played the original, but I find this map to be quite enjoyable from my look over it. There are 5 capture points, each of them single captures. I'd consider this a large map, but it is straightforward in its size. The minimap has arrow which show paths from spawn for both teams. What really stood out on this map is its level of detail in every wall and rock and rubble pile. Everything has a nice texture and is pleasing to the eye, alongside that there are numerous places that can be defended in a realism for both teams, consisting of buildings, fences, staircases and broken walls. Another interesting part was a ledge on which a player can climb up and surprise anyone hiding in a window by climbing inside, I found that interesting due to the need to defend both that window and wherever another rifle would be placed in that area, this was around the second allied flag. Also the axis have a church tower from which a quick sniper or rifleman can defend from easily near their first flag. All around it is a high quality map, it might be a bit large for the pub but it would still work and be a great realism map all around.

Other Comments: This is essentially a winter version of dod_flash, with no added routes, so the layout is the same. It is a small map. Like dod_flash, it will work well in the pub, but its realism potential is lacking. Both sides are fairly balanced, but are not mirror images of each other. No team has a clear advantage. The choke point is at middle flag. Here the attacking team has to go out into the street in order to advance, so a smoke grenade is recommended. Open areas with little cover include both the allied and axis fields. Main street has many sandbags to take cover behind. The map is set in an urban environment during the winter season. There are no known glitches. Like dod_flash, it is a fun map for the pub, but can also be a real stalemate. It is possible to have a good realism on this map, but there are many better realism maps out there.

Other Comments: This is a great map to be a rifleman on, you have long lines of sight, a decent amount of cover to move through as long as there is proper use of suppressive fire. Another advantage of this map is that it is relatively small comparatively to some maps (i.e. sora) so it makes for fast paced realisms. The way this map is laid out I personally don't think it would be a load of fun in the pub, 32 people running around able to pick each other off practically from spawn, sounds like a headache waiting to happen lol.

Other Comments: This map is pretty fully laid out; most buildings at least the first floor can be entered the ones that the second floor is blocked it is usually because there is a bed or something similar in your way which is a decidedly nice touch over just not having a stairwell or having invisible walls everrywhich way. There is one border that isn't as well done as it could have been; it is just one of the standard Dragons teeth lines with a clip brush extended through it (clip brush = invisible wall) short of that I can see this being a great map for 8v8-12v12 realism's and the pub in general. This map receives Five Skulls out of Five!

Other Comments: All in all a pretty good map, it is mainly set out with connecting alleyways and courtyards. One thing that I noticed on this version that kind of bugged me is there are not a whole lot of open buildings and those that are open stare directly in a perfectly straight line into the opposites teams open buildings.

I found the map aside from the lack of buildings to be well laid out with a nice balanced feel. Combat on this map would probably be best suited to 5v5-12v12 realism matches and maybe a bit of pub play. Is a nice close quarters map so I think the play style in a pub situation would be similar to flash but not as much of a stalemate on a full server as long as people make attacks at multiple points and both levels of the fountain would need to be engaged in order for the team to be able to advance. This map gets four skulls out of five.

On the map it has two colors to it mostly, a very whitish gray which are buildings and the darker gray which is for outside or in one case on the right side (left for Allies) is a water pit. My overall personal opinion is that it would probably do well as a realism map, but should be tested for pubbing.

Other Comments: This is a medium sized attack and defend bomb map. Based upon an actual Dunkirk evacuation. The axis plant bombs while the allies defend. On the allied side mortars are constantly being fired upon the spawn beach hitting in set spots randomly. 5 places are set to plant bombs, 2 of which are single plants. In the middle of the map there is a minefield with live mines which will instantly kill any player who walks upon them. They can be shot as well as remote explosives. The minefield is quite open giving little for cover, though there are many buildings to use for realism. This would make quite the interesting realism map having each team carefully move through the mines to reach the holed up defending team. Pub play would be phenominal as well watching people evade both player fired mortars and landmines while planting and defending bombs. Quite realistic and a very good design, with a twist on the general DoD play.

Other Comments: This map is a nice little snow map set in a town. It's quite symmetric, in the sense of the allied and axis spawns look fairly similar. I think this is a fairly easy map to navigate round, except for some reason the majority of the second floors in the buildings are blocked off for some reason. I'd say this map would be fun for either pubbing or realism, although I'd limit this to a small realism match map in the sense of it being like crash or hobofire. The one thing that really lets it down for me, is the minimap looks awful like something done in paint.

Comments: Roughly the same layout as dod_forza_rc1. But a bit has been changed around. It seems to be more detailed than the other. There are more spots to hunker down and ambush the enemy than forza_rc1. But the layout is almost exactly the same. All routes lead to the middle above ground and underground. On a personal note I really like this map. It is a lot more detailed and "hollowed out" than the other which makes for more hiding spots :)

In the other i said it was quite close quarters. In this one there is a little more space from place to place

Other Comments: First thing I joined, I got "Graph Out Of Date" message. Ran into no other issues, except the funky Red / Blue wood coloring on some of the buildings. This map is fairly big, with 3 routes that can split into smaller routes into buildings. The buildings. Lots of them. Lots of room. There are NO MOVABLE PROPS on this map except for the small ones or the small breakable ones. There are also many spots for snipers or MGs to nestle in, and many places where people can camp and take you by surprise. I wouldn't recommend it for pub, since most players would get shot and didn't know where it came from.

This map is set up as an allied defense map only having 2 allied flags both double caps. This map is oriented North/South with axis spawn to the north and allied spawn to the south. It would be good for both realism and pub play. For realisms, there are a couple couches that could be moved to make a barricade. There are not any real choke points that could be used for realism (b/c there are many ways to get around the map) but the alleyways could be defended well. In pub play b/c this map is only set up with allied flags it could be easy for allies to set up good defenses, but I don�t think that this map gives an unfair advantage to the allied team. I did not find any glitches.

Other Comments: This is a very good map, I did notice one specific glitch on one of the TNT plant locations, the "Fire In the Hole" shout is repeated in both English and German. This is something that is pretty small and non-critical. It also didn't really detract from the way the map plays so I am willing to overlook it due to the fact that there is a lot of usable items for barricading on the allied side of the map; axis side kind of got the short end of the stick as that side feels as if it has endured some heavy shelling and most the buildings are more blown out and furniture is scarcer.

All in all the map feels like it would play through very smoothly on the pub or the old Realism mod were you could still plant, however without the ability to plant many of the routes you can take through the buildings becomes very limited and would take away from the realism factor on this map. I.E. you are on allies holed up on the two story house on the corner block of the middle, you know that the axis can come in without an explosion from two directions so you set up your MG in the corridor that feeds both ways. Now if explosives are allowed to be set say said MG'er hears some TNT go off. There are three points that TNT could be placed, from the MG's positions all sound very similar. The thing is only two of those walls that could have been blown are external walls, should the MG reposition to assist his team or stand his ground on the off chance they blew the interior wall as a diversion? The things that make you thing are what make maps truly great. There is also a similar situation that could occur on axis side of course just slightly less fortified.

Another interesting thing I noticed is that as you run around you will notice many of the buildings around you, i.e. a re-textured allied suze (from Donner) and the blown out house from next to the axis one on Donner also makes an appearance. Fun fact for you.

The textures of the map are very nice, very little repetition short of maintaining the theme of the map and plenty of tight quarters that feed into long rifle favoring corridors. There are also a few points were it would be simple to pin an overzealous opponent down after letting them push far enough behind your lines which is not something that is usually easily done. This map gains 4 skulls out of 5. I still recommend for realism even if you can't plant der bombs, as the map can flow without the plants just takes away a few of the options hence the lowered realism score.

Other Comments: very fun map. I think it would be great for a realism or pub but it could use some dark spots. Going into enemy spawn will wound or instantly kill depending on what part of spawn you enter into. Allies spawn can be a little tricky to get out of if taking the dirt ramp as certain parts are too steep for the avatar to go over without jumping.There are buildings that overlook each of the 6 flag points with windows at many angles. The main road looks like two "Z"s put together going from one spawn to the next. There are ways to cut through the buildings to skip the next flag in line on the main road.There are 24 buildings where each side gets 12 as the main road snakes from spawn to spawn. There are movable items which can be used as barricades. The biggest thing going for the map is you don't know what is going to be around the corner as there are many windows and twists and turns.

This CTF map takes place in a small French village where an amphibious landing by the Allies is met by the defending Axis. The Allied and Axis both control one flag, with two neutral 2P capture spots in the middle.

The map seems specifically designed with realism game play in mind. Each building boasts plentiful amounts of props for defenders to utilize, in addition to numerous corners and hiding spots for ambushes. Out in the open, cover is a little more scare, but definitely well-placed with lots of sandbags and crates. There are also several windows with breakable glass overlooking the main streets, in addition to some great balconies and firing holes. Nevertheless, game play will definitely revolve around building clearing and close-quarters combat, which is addressed in specifically angled furniture pieces and multiple entry and exit points through each building. Did I mention the radio that loops some great music in the center?

One drawback of this map is its small size. Compared to other realism maps, this particular setup encompasses a very tight and narrow combat area that takes care to utilize detailed interiors instead of vast exteriors. I can see 16 vs. 16 games being a little too big for this map, although smaller teams will be grateful for the plethora of position choices. I would also not recommend this map for the pub server due to its realism-friendly orientation in addition to a somewhat confusing layout. Players can easily get lost in the numerous twists and turns of the map and spend most of their time navigating instead of fighting. For fast-paced CTF games, this map doesn't really shine above the rest.

This demolition map centers around a small French town perched atop a sprawling hilltop that leads down respectively into the Allied and Axis spawn. The Allied Team must plant two bombs each on a German tank and flak gun, while the Axis Team must plant two bombs each on an American tank and C-47 plane

The highlights of the map include a well designed King of the Hill type game play which focuses in on controlling the top of the hill rather than the hillside itself. The Allied spawn has three bomb depots conveniently placed outside the three exits from spawn, in addition to an additional three "neutral" bomb depots placed around the hilltop village. A combination of long-range firefights on the slopes and close-quarters inside the densely packed village creates a nice realistic atmosphere in the map and keeps players interested and entertained. For realism games, the town itself provides superb firing spots overlooking the enemy defenses as well as plentiful hiding spots for defenders.

A serious drawback on the map is the appalling lack of cover on both hillsides. Apart from a few cow carcasses and some craters, both slopes are very much in the open, with enemy soldiers able to see the other side's spawn from atop the hill. Players will have trouble making it up the hill facing lots of potential sniper holes and MG spots should the tide turn against them. In addition, although the Axis also have a bomb depot next to their spawn, German players will find only one exit out of their own spawn. When the open line of sight into spawn is taken into account, I can easily see some pubbers getting frustrated by a well-placed MG or sniper camping the sole exit. If additional fog or cover were to shroud both spawns to prevent such behavior, the map could easily become much more pub-friendly.

The map is small, and it has 5 flags, 4 of them being a normal single cap flag, with the middle being a double cap found on the bridge. With its small size, it kind of feels like dod_crash. It has a few more buildings than crash, but the buildings appear to be bigger than they actually are, with doors and stairways that are blocked off and made inaccessible. For the pub, I wouldn't recommend it, I think it's just too small, just like dod_crash, and would be way too small for anything above 20 players. However, I think it would be a good small realism map, ideal for 5v5s - 7v7s.

Comments: This is a decent map to realism on. You are sure to get a faster paced game with the large open areas, but makes for a fun game. It seems very balanced for attacking or defending with great spots for every weapon. The Random rock sticking straight up on allies side is hard to work around and the only part of the map i dislike. The map size is medium, no huge bridges or water ways that really extends the map. Most of the rooms don't have very much furniture to barricade. They are more open with multiple ways to exit so even if there were furniture it would not help you out very much. Both sides have a hard time crossing the center with adequate cover. This map download does not come with the mini-map.

Other Comments: Really well done map for a beta. The map is pretty decently sized, and is about symmetrical on both sides. I couldn't find any glitches on it, but there might be some. The map is pretty big, especially in the middle areas and the courtyard(left side of axis spawn , right side of allied spawn). These areas are pretty open, but walls, pillars, and a tank can provide some cover. The other part of the map is basically a straight path going through buildings. The buildings are gathered near spawn, with a reasonable amount of movable barricades. Realistic map with bombed out buildings and destroyed armor and cars. Real war-zone feel. I wouldn't recommend it for pub however in my opinion, there are lots of places to hide and lots of debris on the ground and craters and people can hide in them / behind them and camp and incite rage.

One downside is that their are not a lot of enter able buildings to be found on either side of the map; the streets feel a little bit empty but aside from that I could see this being a great map; there are 2 distinct routes past the middle of the map; each of the approaches has it's own flag; once past mid your a little bit more restrained for a moment but then you can branch off pretty quickly and make your way around the blocks to the cap points quickly; I could see this factor being used to great benefit during realisms; have one small attack force probe one of the approaches and then boom here's the rest of the force flooding down the opposite street. This map gets four Skulls out of Five.

What is majorly different about this map is that its set in the spring of 1945, so there is no snow which you would normally associate with it. As you explore the map, you find a lot more of the buildings are opened up and additionally have a few movable items. Its not done to the extreme as was dod_donner_extended but it adds just enough variant to make it different. Pub wise, it is different enough to kalt, but having enough of the great features of the original. For realisms it has a lot of various ways this can be played which the original lacked. Overall with the addition of some nice added textures this is a top quality map.

This map takes place in a bombed out version of kalt on the topside of map. As a map for pubbing on it's not very easily to play, as it's easy to get lost plus the minimap does not help. As a realism map though it has a few open spaces which would add to the game-play whilst keeping the famous kalt sewer system. Overall there a quite a few additional features which make the map look visually better like the collapsed church tower, and the crashed plane flag cap, but overall I feel this map is much better suited to realism.

Other Comments: This map is great. It's a small and compact map, but balanced well. You have have few different textures which make the map interesting, and the call outs for the map easy to learn. One of my favorite things about the map, is the different sounds you hear when walking over different objects, for example walk over a grate, and you can hear the difference. This is great for a realism, as you have to be careful not to give your position away. There are plenty of different routes to take through the map all providing different ways to play it and there are plenty of choke points to utilize. In a pubbing environment, I feel this would be a fun to play map on, although as the first flags are next to spawn, which would be challenging. My only downside to it, is it's not got as much detail in it, as you see on some maps. This map is literally the same map as the original with a decreased spawn area on the axis side. You can now go up the stairs near axis spawn, which actually plays better.

This map seems to be very biased towards Axis Defense with many pill boxes located around the map. Allies must destroy points at the edge of the beach, over looked by strong Axis defense points, in order to proceed into the map (1 on left side, 2 in the middle, and 2 on the right side). There are 3 double detonation points on the map that once destroyed add an additional 1:15 minutes of time (Map begins with 8 minutes) and 1 single detonation point that adds 1 minute. There are a few doors that only open for Axis players which gives them some very defendable positions. There is a weird area in an axis only part of the map that teleports the Axis player to different areas of the map which makes the map a bit unrealistic. Because of the time limits this map would not function properly as a realism map.

Other Comments: This map takes place in the German town of Ludendorff along a large and very long bridge connecting two shores of a river. The map takes place pretty much completely on the bridge. There are two large towers on each side of the bridge that can serve as sniper nests. On the bridge itself there is an upper and lower level. The upper level contains a zig-zaging line of broken down train cars to provide cover but that is really all that is there. Underneath there are a series of maintenance rooms and box barricades to provide cover down the bridge.There are 5 total flag capture points. Each side starts with two 1-man caps on their half of the bridge for a total of 4 flags and there is a center unclaimed 1-man cap in the direct middle of the bridge. Because of the nature of the map (only a big bridge) it would be a difficult realism map with few defensive options. It has a bit of potential for the pub as a Foy type map where control of a long strip is fought over, however it would be difficult with a full server. The textures and prop placement on this map are very well done with a high res appearance and attention to realism which make it a very good looking map.

The gamebanana file does have a readme but it is more credits and thanks to people who helped create the map. For installation one can either extract teh entire thing to your dayofdefeat:source root folder or copy the Maps and Materials folders from inside the .zip file\dod folder and paste it into your own dod folder.

Other Comments: This map is a beautifully done map. There are points that you have to advance across in order for it to allow you access into the rest of the map creating very strong and fluid choke points for use in a realism. It is very well textured with few points were the level of textures should cause a drop in pretty much anyone's FPS (eMachine's excluded). When on this map keep in mind that if it looks like someone could feasibly climb up it with some effort there is a fair chance that you would be able to as well allowing you to bypass choke points in some instances. there are also a few points were a leader will be forced to ask themselves if gaining the luxury of quick passage across is worth the potential risk of being an easy target, even though the alternative is just being a slightly more difficult target. Also be aware that almost all of what appears to be a physical hazard is. There is one point were a tanker car was overturned and it fell into the river, the "oil" has since ignited and swimming across the surface of the water with the ignited oil will burn you, and it is the only way across unless the opposing team made the error of leaving the bridge lowered. I can see this map having so many potential Defenses and attacks that my head spins. The U-boat under the bridge is just Icing on the cake in my opinion. There is also a few instances were you will finding yourself asking "Can I get inside of that?" The answer is more often than not yes, but the real question you should have asked is "Should I go in there? Will I be able to get out easily or am I nade bait?" Keep these things in mind and you will have a truly fun and glorious time on this map.

One downside that I noticed is that for a couple of the crossings it would be virtually impossible for the axis to actively defend against the allies getting into the room, advancing out of yes, getting into though is a different story. Even with this minor fault dod_luebeck1945 receives 5 Skulls out of 5.

Other Comments: This map is a remake of the classic dod_ramelle/dod_merderet. This is a Small map with the settings of a small town with a river that divides the map equally. There is a bridge that goes over the center of the map/river. The bridge (also center cap) is a major choke point on this map, besides going over the bridge each side only has one other route into enemy territory. This map is a 5 flag cap map with 1 double cap flag in the exact middle of the map (on a choke point) and 4 single cap flags 2 on each opposing sides. The axis side of the map seems easier to defend because axis 1st flag is in the middle of an open field where the allies can only access the field from one side and only 4 points. There are a few objects that could be used for barricading on the axis side. I think this would be a great map for both the pub and private server use. On the pub it would be a very difficult stale map and on the private server it would be a difficult axis defense sided map.

The buildings are also fairly expansive with many rooms, furniture/props, and windows that allow for a lot of defense options in a Realism. The map has 2 main routes: main street and an alley way/garden on the Allies right side (Axis left) which would allow for play in the Pub with a medium to heavy player load without creating havoc. The textures are all fairly well done and do not look borrowed from other maps, however there are sections (mainly by the beach) that are quite wide open and could use some more props to attain a higher level of realism. Overall this map would do well for both realisms and pub use.

Other Comments: This map is very simple but very good, not much to explain other than its an urban style map, with buildings on both sides, and the middle is what appears to be an old trading market courtyard. The only thing I could say is it seems to be an Axis sided map, they seem to have better spots for the most part, and the angle is sloped downward towards allies, meaning grenades will roll that direction. Only some movable and breakable objects, mostly just barrels and tables and chairs, but most other normal objects aren't movable, so barricading isn't really an option here. Other than that the map is great and I recommend it for both the pub and realisms.

Other Comments: first off, X-Large map, and very very well made. Whoever the creator of this map was, put a lot of effort, and time into everything on this map. It is an urban style map, great for hunkering down and defending with autos, but with enough room in the streets, and crack shots for sniping, as long as they have backup. Most the buildings on this map have at least 2 floors, most have 3. Some objects are movable and others aren't. It's a mirrored style of map with the middle being a courtyard with a fountain and buildings around it. I can't seem to find any glitches on this map, the mini map works fine, sky is fine, and everything is set perfectly. Overall just a great map.

Other Comments: The map looks a little bigger than it is. At first glance you would think that it is a solid medium sized map, but after looking around for a while and seeing all the places you cannot go, it starts to feel a lot smaller. It is set in a small rural town with mostly close quarter combat and some alley way long shots mixed in. I could not find any glitches in the small amount of time that I was running around the map. Allied spawn is fairly large with no indications of where it starts except for the invisible barrier. That could make things difficult for us if we use our server for the realism since I am almost sure we would have people wandering into spawn unknowingly. Most of the movable furniture on the map crumbles from one shot. There are some items such as the couch, desk, and metal barrels that would not break.

All in all I think that this could be a fun map in the pub but is a little bit to small for a full server which is when you usually want a custom map.

This is the map that has the church with the ringing bell, the barn with the loft up top, and some sewers on allies side. The only problem is that when allies exit spawn they can be sniped from the church tower at a certain exit. Set in an open town.

According to recent reports, this map cannot handle a full server due to limited spawn points. That means that the teams fill at 14 v 15 and trap people in spectate.

Other Comments: This map is set in an Axis concentration camp. It is modeled off of the Auschwitz 1 camp. The map is set up in an attack defend style with TNT detonation sites for the Allies to capture and destroy while the Axis defend until time runs out. There are 2 single plant explosion sites with a central map TNT pick up site. Allies spawn outside the front gates of the camp while the Axis spawn near the second objective in the top right corner of the map. There are various housing blocks with two stories that are open throughout the map as well as a handful of closed housing blocks. However, most of the map is fairly wide open. Because of this fact realisms with more than 7v7/8v8 and pub play with close to a full server would be difficult and the limited number of objectives would cause some chaos. On top of that there is little usable furniture/props for barricades which would limit realism defense options significantly. Overall the map is very realistic and uses a variety of quality textures that don't look copied from other maps.

There are also high points where it is easy to fall off and take a lot of damage. On axis spawn some will spawn on the second floor of a building and there is only one way to get down so if there are more than 5 people on that second floor it will be hard to exit spawn without taking fall damage.

Other Comments: This is a great map with a lot of good spots to have riflemen to call out enemy advancements without undo risk to the rifleman. From an attackers perspective this map can be a little bit daunting as there are so many windows and its all in fairly tight quarters when your not on the street. As far as I can tell attacking from the main street on this map could work well if you have faith in your teams abilities as far as checking corners goes. This map has a lot of alcoves and doorways that if you don't check it and probably clear that building or at least that floor of the building you will be seeing your flank exposed with a quickness.

One of the biggest things that I noticed is that from a defending standpoint this map would be excellent for rolling defenses, you can bottle the attackers up and keep literally one or two men in place while you move the rest of the defense unseen to entirely new locations. In order for this to be successful proper use of jump windows would be vital, there are a few windows that look like you would be able to jump down and kinda "bounce" off an awning enough to slow you down without taking damage, well it's not the case. If the attackers manage to trap a defending team by pinning them in the upper floors of the buildings they have gained one of the few built in advantages the map has. As far as using windows for long shots and the like most are facing another building but each of the windows can be used to watch were attackers would most likely stage to assault that building or where it would screw the entire team over if there were to be an enemy fire squad chilling in that room (i.e. you have the primary force of the attacking team engaged and you are rolling your defense back to the next set of houses but you have to cross the street at the corner and low and behold your rifleman panicked when he heard shots below him and didn't notice the sniper chilling in the window across from the door you all need to run into). So this map would be a great competition map for use, I for one would really like to see it at least on the private server.

I would not be opposed to seeing this map onto the public server from time to time the mix of tight interconnecting hallways and a few nice open streets and courtyards, not to mention the ever popular church tower, make this a map I would love to see have 32 people trying to overrun each other on.

Lighting in houses is brighter making it easier to be seen from the street. Some furniture that moves on Donner does not move here. World lighting on the map is a little darker like Donner Extended. Do we need another version of Donner to realism on?

Other Comments: Large overall great map. It's a bomb mission type of map, kind of like Jagd, or Strand. There is enough room for both sniping or using an MG, but also close quarters once you get into the Axis base for everything else. There is one interesting part that the allies actually have to use a bazooka on to destroy it, rather than actually planting a bomb. Didn't find any glitches that I know of, or areas where you shouldn't be able to go. Honestly just a great map, also nice that its in a wooded area which changes things up from the urban style we tend to have.
