Question

Posted (edited)

Hello Raiders,

I posted into Discord under the assumption I was picking up a new PC today, unfortunately have been let down and the PC was sold to another person, so the hunt still remains. I am looking for a pre-built rig that will run high demanding games e.g. Call of Duty: Warzone, Hell Let Loose etc.

As I am a PC owner who knows nothing about them, I find it hard to understand what I am looking for so if anyone could kindly post any suggestions with links to a second hand or new pre-built rig which would run these games smoothly would be very much appreciated. I have a budget of £600-$800, I will be posting links as well but I'm not sure every one I choose is going to be capable.

Many Thanks Raiders!

Like the Discord example, that i7 processor is good, but it's 10 years old. The rest of the components seem acceptable to me, but I would suggest you look for an Intel at least of the 6 or 7 series. If not, look for the alternative of a Ryzen processor, which in recent years have surpassed Intel in almost all benchmarks, especially ryzen 5 or 7.

Only slight problem I see with that one is that the processor isn't as new, but that's the graphics card I have on mine and I'm almost always able to run every game with low graphs and decent frames, the 16 RAM is good and you're getting an ssd in which you can get your OS set up and use the extra Tera for everything else, I wouldn't say it's such a bad deal but wait for other recommendations from people who are more into technology and overall pricing!

Do you think this is better suited? @Flores 1st MRB

Better.

Reading the specifications of that PC, my concerns are two:

1.- The frequency of the installed ram memory is low. 2400. I would look for something close to 3000 + -

2.- The motherboard is from the 320 series, more or less old. I'd look for something close to the 450 series.

Keep posting them as they turn up on Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace Burke. Retail + Ebay are way overpriced at the moment, local collection with full used systems is definitely the way to go and we'll let you know if it's a good deal. :)

looks a lot better. What motherboard is installed?

That motherboard does not have HDMI conection, it is a bit old, and the maximum ram frequency it supports is 2133 MHz, so the crucial 3000mhz are not going to work well for you.

Thank you all, especially GySgt. Flores and WO. Logue.

I have decided to build my own PC with the following parts:

MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk Motherboard
Ryzen 7 3700X Processor

MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660

Corsair 16GB RAM 3200Mhz

2TB Hard Drive - 1TB SSD

550W Bronze PSU

Feeling excited and nervous to build it, fingers crossed it goes well.

make sure that power supply can support all that. being bronze rated means its not gonna be able to push the full 550 watts. just something i would consider since psu's are relatively inexpensive
