Question

So, with my new laptop I have encountered an infuriating issue. Whenever I am in DoD:S and a Discord voice chat at the same time I get only very muffled "fishbowl" like sound from both discord voice and in-game sounds. Once I tab out of the game however my sound returns to normal and discord sounds perfect yet again. I have updated all my drivers and fiddled with all the settings in DoD:S but I cannot find a fix for this issue. It is very problematic seeing as how I am going to be in a realism soon and I can't currently be in Discord voice chats and DoD:S at the same time and actually hear anything. I really need help fixing this as I miss being able to be in Discord chatting with all of you and being able to play at the same time.

That happens to me every time I reinstall windows, try going to device manager and locate the audio driver ... uninstall it... reboot.... and then back to device manager you're gonna find the base version of it in the same place...right click and update... it's gonna show you two options, one is manually install driver. second is look for a newer version through

windows update, go for the second option. this worked for me, I hope it works for you.

So, I have tried other games besides DoD:S and same thing for them. Whenever I'm in Discord and in game the sound is messed up. I have tried checking drivers and installing them but that hasn't worked either. I am at a loss. I don't know enough about computers to be able to fix this. Plus, for the realism I will need to be in Discord and in game so I will need this problem fixed ASAP.

Yeah.....I spoke too soon. The audio was fixed for a time but now it is right back to being fucked up. I'm at a total loss. I have no idea how to fix it and make it stop doing this. The only thing I can think of is to try and factory reset the laptop and hopefully it will restore or fix whatever it is that is causing it.
