Is the Pz. III/IV or Pz. IV better in the long run? I have availability to buy one, just don't know which one. :o

That depends on play style and preference. I haven't played them in a long while, but it looks like the III/IV is faster and more manouverable, while the IV is better armoured frontally and has an HE cannon.

Check out the comparisons here:

The 3/4 leads to the Panther line, the one I'm currently in, and is practically the best sniping tank outside of my American TDs. It plays very much like a Hellcat (with better armor, though slower). You can be a medium-short range sniper with the 88mm L50, or be a long range mosquito biter with the 75mm L100. Although with the L100, you will not have the wonderful damage as you would with the 88. The Panther line in my eyes is a support style sniper. There are threads dedicate to these in the WoT German Medium forum.

This thread/guide is a pretty good overview on the strengths and weakness of one of the 3/4's end run tanks: link

The 3/4 itself? It is one of my most favorite tanks. Speedy, with good guns that deal damage and penetrate at your tier, you can be speedy and kill things or hide and kill things.

Here is me running it:

Now, as for the Pz4? I can't say much, but it leads to the Tigers, so it's gonna be more towards brawling I think.

Try them all, early in the game it's easy enough to change trees/nations... It's not until about tier 4 that it really matters.

Personally I like the US Tree, big guns.

France seems to still be a bit OP if you feel like grinding through the tier 1-5 to get to them. Germany is a good balanced nation, unfortunately that doesn't make them the superior tanks. Russia is the same, just more armor, more speed.

The thing about France is they have post WWII tanks with auto-loaders. So most French tanks have the ability to fire rounds at crazy speeds but then have a long reload.

What you need to decide is what tree you're most interested in. SPGs are the artillery, they have biggest guns, longest reload, virtually no armor. Tank Destroyers have the second biggest guns, they don't get decent armor until the later tiers, and some move quick some are the slowest in the game. Scout Light tanks only go up to tier 5 (up to tier 8 in French line) they are easily the most maneuverable and some of the fastest, but obviously they don't have the best guns or armor. Medium Tanks are fairly quick and maneuverable, and most can take a few hits. Heavy tanks are even less maneuverable, but they have bigger guns and the best armor.

Each nation does each tree a little differently, but they all have their pros and cons. But it all depends on your playing style. I have tank ADD, so I want to try every tank in the game... So although I've had my tier 10 researched for months, I spend all my credits on trying new tanks.

I concur with most of what Yama and Dawson has said. That said, I've went down the US Tank Destroyer, US Medium, German Tank Destroyer, and German Medium path the farthest. I'd say give US and Germany a shot especially if you're just starting out. The learning curve isn't that horrendous in my opinion.

I just last night decided that I didn't like the American tanks below tier V at all. Then when I sold all of my tanks and dismissed the crews, I bought one of them fancy A13's. And oh, my god, I love 'em. Although I obviously wouldn't take it over a MkII (my next goal), if it's used properly you can fuck shit up.
