I love playing with competent AMX 50 100 players. If they don't kill em or stop the push, I tell em to retreat behind me and the L7A1 does some work.

That said I hate playing against them and I make every effort to do this.

"Identify Target!"

"Target ID, AMX 50 100"

"LOAD HESH"

"Up!"

"Shoot!"

So, necroing this thread, but...

There are three absolute maxims to the Centurion family.

1) Aim small, miss small. Only hits count.

It means you aim for damage. You are a marksman. Your gun is the second best in the entire game in terms of aim time and accuracy. The only reason the Leopard 1 is better is because they use a later model version of the L7 Royal Ordinance, the L7A3. And even then it's merely the same gun with a different breechblock. Ammo usage is dependent on situation. You reload faster than most heavies even with full crew, BiA, Rammer, Vents, and consumables. If a heavy presents a flat unarmored side or his rear, consider changing to premium HESH. Otherwise, your APCR is your bread and butter. It's also damned expensive. Makesure you get a return for every shot by dealing damage.

Practice your snapshots, and always gauge when and why you need to take that shot. But never be scared to take a Hail Mary shot. HESH has a very slight drop at range, and I've killed around 5-7 tanks who thought they backed far enough down a hill to avoid a direct shot. I've only seen slivers of tanks but I aimed slightly above the ridge and either the drop gets em, or RNG does.

2) Teamwork is essential; it gives the enemy other tanks to shoot at.

You have a good amount of hitpoints. Sadly the game model and armor characteristics are damned bad. They've up sized it compared to the real thing. Let others do the tanking. Never rely on your angles. There will be shots that punch through. Your gauge on teamwork depends on your platoon composition, and your pub team. Needless to say this is why I use XVM. Allows me to gauge the waters during a match to allow me to compensate or adjust my gameplay as a situation unfolds.

3) The dirt is your best friend.

Like the Centurions, the FV4202 is best hull down and low to the ground. There are many maps where they'll only see your gun and upper turret. Always keep moving. Unlike the Centurions you cannot bounce all shots, but with it's higher acceleration and responsiveness compared to the Centurion, you can jiggle back and forth or around a terrain feature, then abuse your aimtime in a snapshot.

I almost dropped my free experience into getting my Centurion Mk. 1 yesterday but decided I needed a new turret and gun in my Type 58 instead. The Comet is just too much fun to give up before the med weekend ends.

McDowell and I also went to the annual open house of the local private museum.

Oh God treat of treats, their Centurion Mark 12 is working. Not the prettiest girl there but she runs. They have a long road ahead of them.

Figured this topic was worth bumping, with all you WT advocates. World of Tanks is still an amazing game and I have so much time and money invested in it, War Thunder will have to amaze before I think about giving up the WoT. ;)

Anyways, I always get asked "How many tanks do you have now, Yama?"

Just bought my T95, here's the results for my first battle:

The IS-3 on our team finished off some of my targets, but my damage speaks for itself. I think I might enjoy this tank.

The doom turtle rides again!

Gave warthunder a shot. Didn't like it one bit. It just doesn't grab me like WOT does. Maybe warthunder will be better once its released on PS4. I just felt lost and had no idea what to do. No guidance or direction for newcomers. I found myself dying randomly out of nowhere. WOT is definitely a much more enjoyable experience. It has its downsides at times and annoyances with lackluster teammates, but I always get that WOT itch from time to time.

By the way what is everyones thoughts on WOrld of Warplanes?

From what I did play as well as what I've seen on Youtube, War Thunder has some better game mechanics that World of Warplanes. WoWP is basically World of Tanks in the sky with a few added ground objectives. War Thunder has historical battles and the ability to respawn with another plane in your hanger.

WoWP started off being a big hit, but it just cannot keep the high number of players online and playing like WoT. Last time I tried playing WoWP, there were 10-15 players online and 3/4 of them were in the top tiers. However, This was pre-release, so it might be drastically different now, but I haven't had the heart to patch up.

I didn't find it as good as War Thunder, which is why I switched to it, but getting back to World of Tanks, I've been playing a little bit more and more of it again. Grinding up these tanks really sucks .. especially without my premium account now.

Am I just missing something then in regards to warthunder? Maybe I didn't give it a good enough shot. Wondering how its gonna play on PS4 if anything. Maybe then I'll try it. What makes it a better choice to you instead of WoT?

Radley-Walter's: Awarded to players in the 5th or higher tier for destroying 8 or 9 enemy vehicles in one battle.

Kolobanov's: Awarded to a player who stands alone against five or more enemy tanks or self-propelled guns and wins (this means that you can capture the enemy base by yourself when you are against five enemies and you will recieve the achievement.)

Yup, I also got Top Gun (6 or more kills) and High Caliber (damage caused is at least 20% of the enemy team's total HP Pool)

And you managed to pull that off in a Matilda BP. :o

Not that it's a bad tank, but usually when you make it to the conflict it's too late.

Haha, I even "chased" down an artillery for the last kill.
