My cousin got a Mainecoon the other day. Those fuckers are huge. and look at this pic

Those cats are serious. They could probably take apart a German Shepard. I think I want one. Being how I prefer cats over dogs. I like how you got to build respect with the cat before he likes you, while a dog is like a slut, will lick whoever says hello to it.

well while my slutty dog defends my life again burglars and shit, have fun dieing while your cat sits and purrs on the couch. size doesnt matter with a housecat, kick it once, and it will run off. Of course this is my opinion, not trying to over shadow or slam your post by anymeans. its just hard for me to fathom how someone can prefer cats as opposed to dogs. but to each his own, and i suppose you have a valid reason for liking cats more, other than the fact that dogs are mans best friend, and sluts.

Hey go dogs all you want man, i don't dislike them, i just don't like em as much as cats. And come on man, the burglar argument is invalid, dogs get one good kick too and their gone too, unless they are trained, which if they are all the burglar needs to know is to tell them down or no. I have experience in this for my mom trains German Sheppards for the police. For dogs it the intimidation factor, they are more scary than a cat. But for most dogs you just got to have a kind voice and their your best friend. And dogs are only man's best friend in the west. The Chinese eat dogs...

Edit: Method, if the burglar has a gun, your dogs dead too, as are you, so the best you get is a warning when the dog barks. So as stated above the dog as a defense is invalid. I rather have a long knife, or a gun. So while your lying dead next to your dog, I'll be explaining why there is a dead criminal to the police.

What kind of pussy as dogs do you have that one kick would deter them from attacking or not? As for the training if they are trained properly they will only respond to the owner/handlers voice. I have a sheep dog that I barely trained and she will only listen to me and can take out a full grown male. And police dogs don't respond to english mostly dutch.

German and Czech actually are the big languages. And by your argument zachow, cows, deer, pigs, and chickens are man's best friends as well. Like I said keep your dog. Its cool you have one. I just prefer cats. Like I said, they are more independent. And I like how that's always the sole argument people bring up for dogs, they provide protection.

Edit: I guess i also like the challenge of befriending a cat. It takes a lot more than a dog.

ok ok, lets not fight. cats can be good animals. and i do agree with you that some dogs can be too friendly. there was actually a special on tv a long time ago about burglars breaking in and just putting the dogs in the bathroom, and putting the small dogs in the sink haha.

That picture was taken in Jan. '08. If you can believe my dog was even fatter. He was 92 lbs overweight when we adopted him, now he's actually 10 lbs underweight. But that's because he gets sick really easily, mainly pneumonia because of his paralyzed larynx.

My cat weighs 38 pounds, my big dog weighs 167 lbs last time we took him to the vet. My mother's little dog weighs just undr 10 lbs, miserable little rat that it is.

Sidenote: My cat is a Ragdoll, the biggest breed of domestic cat in the world, easily weighing between 20-40 lbs.
