I'm going to get sucked into Politics again. I make a point of not posting in the Politics Section because it always makes me frustrated.

Anyways, maybe the politicians are finally in a position where they see the need to cooperate with one another for the good of the United States. Otherwise, public support and opinion will keep swinging back and forth between the two parties every two years.

One more thing: Spending isn't necessarily a bad thing, its what its being spent on. More military/defense investments may not be a good idea, but spending on infrastructure may be useful.

We'll see what happens.

If spending is cut a decent amount and some tax shelters/loopholes are removed, we might get somewhere. But we have yet to see D.C. ever do both at the same time when that is what is really needed. Raised taxes on the rich never work because they have their 401k's at 50%, have a home-based business that loses money, own a house, and can generally dodge taxes like fricken' they are Neo dodging bullets in the Matrix.

I'm always leery of making significant cuts in the military, particularly in the R&D... philosophically, its like life insurance: you spend money on it hoping you never need it. You don't plan on not using it, just hope you don't have to.

Well nothing is going to be done the next two years unfortunately. It's already been stated by Obama and Reid that they're going to fight what the Republicans are going to try and get done in the House. What this will do in 2012 though is open the door for more seats for Republicans to take the Senate and/or the Presidential seat. Spending is out of control. Infrastructure does nothing for the nation to grow as of right now. It was needed 100 years ago, but not right now. 100 years ago, all the jobs were in the US and we hardly imported anything. We needed the infrastructure then to expand our business from within. Since there already is an infrastructure system in place what we need to do now is cut senseless pork spending is a start. Stop giving billions of dollars to study leaches and shit. Stop giving millions to build new buildings to name after senators. Take old buildings and name them. In order to bring businesses back into this nation, there have be tax cuts or incentives to bring them back. Major tax increases and union fees drove them out in 92 and the agreement of the NAFTA deal. We can keep that in place because it can be valuable, but we need a reason to bring business back in the states.

No more bank bailouts. If you're going to do a bailout then give the money to the American ppl. If the $780,000,000,000 bailout with Obama was divided among all tax payers in the United States, then each one would have gotten something like $32,000. Pay off houses and debt with that instead of giving it to the banks and it still doesn't ease the pain on the American people. (You can thank Barney Frank for that one) As for national defense, we're going to have to pay out the ass for it. Since it's all voluntary and is being downsized by Obama, we have to compensate with technology to be the superpower in the world. Nuclear weapons does not make a super power anymore. As we all know technology is expensive. What I mean by technology, I mean like the F-22 Raptor program that Obama has cut in half. Programs like NASA which bring so much more technology to the United States not for military use but civilian use as well.

Like I said, it's going to be hard to get anything done these next two years. Bottom line though, to cut down the $13,000,000,000,000 deficit we have to have more exporting value than importing values and we have to put this nation back on a budget. Thankfully it's up to the house to do the budget. America has to get back into the black on the balance sheets.
